American politics

Trump's dog whistle politics affords comfort to this scum and they start coming out from their rocks. If you considered yourself to be a reasonably decent and sane person and you heard this creep as you were entering a rally, surely you would have to have second thought? Surely?

That's what i don't understand about America, you have huge amounts of idiots and then you have people who are obviously very intelligent i.e Ben Carson who is a Neurosurgeon!!! who support that same thing the idiots do.

It's what happens when you have such an inward looking society and society obsessed with nationalise
America has a lot more in common with Russia and N.Korea in terms of control of media focus and views outside of its own borders

Cruz believes in Armageddon, as does Carson. Both are creationists, both deny the existence of man made climate change. Both are extremists! They are more of a threat than Trump. Trump is just an opportunist, whereas these clowns really believe what they are saying. Be afraid, be very afraid.

I don't get the people here either and I've been living with them for almost 15 years

Trump has tinkled off way too many people in the GOP to get their nomination.
No traditional republican want to be on the same ticket as Trump on election day. Its not just the president that's elected for date its the House of Representatives and some Senators and Governors.

He wont get enough delegates to carry a majority in the first round of the republican convention.
The question is whether when freed up will the delegates that had been tied to Trump go Cruz, Rubio or Kasick. It will probably which ever finishes stronger.

Trump will call flimflam and run as a third party candidate even though a ton of state has sore loser legislation meaning he wont be about to stand in those states.
All he'll do is take support away from the GOP, meaning Clinton will win.

Trump will call hogwash and run as a third party candidate even though a ton of state has sore loser legislation meaning he wont be about to stand in those states.

.
Maybe that was the plan all along.

Bingo, I have lived and worked in USA and have made some great friends and we still keep in touch. The problem with America is the government with their do as we say/ think what we think or we will bomb the brick out of you.

I would say the problem with America is "America" (copyright) not Americans.
And the Gov plays a massive part in that, bit also the media and the fantastical part of peoples mind as some bastion of peace and utopia.
A view that in the mid 1700s was true. But the world is different now, as are the consequences of I. Attacking others and II. Being isolationists (anyone thinking of Brexit needs to make sure they understand that).

This all creates the brand that is "America" and part of that (false) brand is 'Murica. That's the part Trump represents - whether it be the aspirational, conquer and make money through "hard business" or the market forces make us great race to the top and leave behind those at the back or the triumphalism of stopping terrorism and "taking America back for Americans".

I can't dance with most of that and as you say I have met/worked with some great American folks (I have also met some right arseholes who support the bomb the brick out of those that disagree with us).

When I was in the States my son was only two and he used to watch a program called ( romper room, I think that was what it was called). It was a pre-school TV program for youngsters. They all had to stand up and put their hands on their heart and do the alligence to the American flag mantra, I kid you not they all knew it off by heart and we are talking babies here.

It was brain washing to the max and all the kids knew it word for word, no wonder they have this sense of we are all right and everyone else is wrong once they have grown up. As I say I have met and worked with many good people over there but their sense of history is warped in a lot of cases.

When were these great times Mr.Drumpf keep referring to? Were they before 1492? That country has been in complete turmoil ever since us silly Europeans sat foot there.

That made me incredibly happy, but sad at the same time. Happy that the Indian guy cleared those RWNJ away. Hey didn't they skedaddle. Sad, because he was telling an awful truth, a truth that Americans still refuse to acknowledge, the near genocide of native American people. Bury my heart at Wounded Knee.

Have always loved these quote from a Native American chief:
