American politics

Trump as President, Johnson (I'm not calling this tw@t 'Boris') as PM and out of the EU -- the rise of the idiots is almost complete.

Hopefully, the above won't happen.

It says more about the general population of the US, were they to vote for such a public buffoon. George W Bush was one thing but Trump is an even bigger joke. Personally I won't be setting foot on American soil if he's in charge and good luck to Americans travelling around the world because I guarantee their national reputation will be in the gutter if he gets into the White House.

That's a shame because it really is a wonderful country

Trump is like everyone around him in the world of politics...he is great at the art of manipulation.

Do what you need to do to get in power, thats the name of the game, simple as that......

I am an expat Brit who has lived in America for 12 years now, I am also an American Citizen. I don't understand the British interest in the American election? Why would you guys care if ' The Donald' wins or not? The President is more of a figurehead than anything else. His or hers powers are severely limited. Mr Trump is playing extremely clever, if in the event he were to win I think that you would see a different Donald Trump in the White House.

May I add that I am personally leaning towards Bernie Sanders, however if he fails to win the nomination due to the Democratic party's corrupt use of 'Super delegates" I will then move to 'undecided' 'as the Clintons are the Devil's spawn IMHO.

The US is the one true remaining superpower in the world. They have a lot of power militarily, economically, politically... They have a huge influence on the world, and the president does have a big say even though he's of course not all powerful.

How the US president views climate change for example can make a real difference. Much more of a difference than any politician I can vote for in Norway for example. Also a huge influence on global politics, wars etc. Again, much greater than any politician I can vote for.

He is playing the game. But he's also extremely unpredictable in terms of what he will actually do once in power should he win the game.

Again like all politics.

Our local MP basically got in power saying "vote for me I will stop you losing houses and a bridge in Thurrock that will ruin your lives"

Been less than a year and she is now backing the bridge, thats on a small version the name of the game.

Is he going to build a wall between Mexico and US? Come off it and anyone even commenting on it is a fudgewit.

I'm not saying Trump will do what he's claiming he will do during the election. I'm saying no one knows what he'll do. He's unpredictable.

well Trump isn't in politics, never has been and that explains part of his appeal, the US public is sick to death of politicians doing nothing but fighting each other, congress's approval ratings are at a historic low.
And Trump doesn't act like a political either, he says what he wants, when he wants, a lot of people voted for George W because they felt they could have a beer with him, despite his failings, its obviously
a similar thing with Trump, I watched the whole of the debate yesterday and it was quite an entertaining spectacle, Trump is a showman and knows very well how to work a crowd, none of the other candidates have his charisma.

Exactly. Trump openly fronts racism and segregation, endorses torture and breach of human rights. He even said Bowe Bergdahl, who haven't been to trial yet, should be executed.

What I've said above is close to his political programme, and it's what gets his voters off their sofa. It's like a trip back to central Europe in the 30's.

I have to say, this made me laugh loudly because it is true...then I realized that the horror is how many fudgewits there are out there :-(

Is this real? It's pretty funny.

That video is funny. But it does show the stupidity of people "if trump wins I'm moving to China". Really, a military dictatorship with atrocious human rights is the best you can come up with as an alternative! Let's get some perspective people, trump is a dumb wit, and Clinton is on a personal crusade. Either is so much more preferable to China.
I know, it's a parody, but so many "right on" socially conscious people watch these things, then think, "hey this guys right, give me that petition to sign."
The fact that anyone in this country can want to sign a petition to ban a democratically elected leader to one of the biggest democracies in the world in an indication of the level of stupidity of the general public.

If Trump wins he'll sell them to China.

I think that Trump is saying what he thinks it will take to win the nomination. If he succeed, I think that he will say something different in a presidential race. Trump doesn't have any fixed views, he has toyed with running as a Democrat before.
