Ha! If I had to pick one I'd be Snowdon! Assange strikes me as a sociopathic sort :-(

The first article is very cleverly written and goes to precisely why I have such distrust of the likes of the Grauniad.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/aug/19/cia-admits-role-1953-iranian-coup

It takes direct quotes from official documents about supporting a coup to rid the country of an anti-western leader, then includes some opinion quotes from a biased source stating that it was about oil and equates the two as if they are the same source. Read through it again and see if you can spot the sleight of hand!
Evidence that western governments have interfered in other countries does not equate to Western governments interfering in order to generate contracts for their friends, neither does it equate to some kind of mad grab for oil or anything else underhand.
I doubt that book will have the answers. The author's hardly a neutral source!Read the book.
If, by the end of it, you can clearly explain to me why YOU think Mossadegh was ousted and replaced by the CIA-friendly Shah of Iran, I would love to hear it.
Brainwash my arse, that's just sales and marketing. You'd have to be pretty feeble of mind to have no choice but to go along with it.
Of course I do, but for all you know those might be choices rather than brainwashing. You mean you don't look around you and see feeble minded people wearing baseball caps, eating fast food while wearing their logo covered clothing on their smart phone?

Just because those choices and preferences are different to yours it doesn't make them brainwashed. For the record, you'd find me dead before finding me in a baseball cap or wearing logo-emblazoned clothing. I do tend to avoid fast food, but drive throughs are so convenient! If it ever makes me fat I'll have to stop.
it is happening, it could just do with happening a bit quicker
I understand how marketing works and it's still a choice.I worked in the media for nearly 40 years and can tell you the best brainwashing is when you think it's your choice. Companies don't spend billions a year on advertising and marketing for nothing.
I take it you had the option to change channel? Or to pick up a book instead? As someone who worked in the states while my son was between the ages of 1-4 then i can categorically same the kids are brainwashed.
You should look at one of the programs that was on everyday called romper room, it had babies stood up with their hands over their hearts pledging allegiance to the flag.
Its just a follow on from that.
I take it you had the option to change channel? Or to pick up a book instead?
It's easily avoidable, really easily. People choose not to for the same reason I sometimes eat junk food - it's convenient. That's a perfectly valid choice, but it's a choice all the same.
Another school then? I know for a fact that not all schools over there go in for that nonsense. Its in ( or was then) in the school time table you had no choice, " home of the brave, land of the free" and all that crap.

Past that, if it bothers you that much there are always other countries to live in.
How on earth is it happening mate?
Religion is like HIV - it trends toward zero as education increases.the number of people with faith is reducing, a study last year found that most of the people in the U.K. identify themselves as atheist (53%), a hundred years ago it was 0%
as scientific education improves around the world religion is dying on its arse, all that are left are the real nutjobs or those with vested interests
I guarantee you it wasn't in every school. Not everyone bought into it.It was a program design for kids and shown on national TV and in the schools, so it was everywhere and watched with glee by the kids encouraged by parents. As i have said before mate for a educated man ( or seems to be) you dont have speak some tosh.
