Transfer thread

I think we need a deep lying controlling passer in the Modric style ilk. I'm not convinced Maddison or Deki can play that role, I'm not actually convinced that either of them have a long term future at all. I'd call both of them good players who do well on form but neither take control and dominate games - I guess a bit like us play well when the team does. If there's an opportunity to upgrade one of them and sell one for a decent fee then it might not be popular but would be sensible.

We definitely need more creativity and goals from wide as well.

I'd sell Romero for Guehi and Richi for another wide player who can keep fit and add more goals.

I didn't realise Eze is about to turn 27, good player but should we be spending most of our budget on someone of that age, could say we should get players in their prime to kick on but is there someone similar who's more 23-25 that we'd be better off spending the money on?

I said the same thing myself. We currently have the following U21 players who only qualify as A-list of which you can only have 17. This is because they haven't completed 2 years registration with the club - Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Vuskovic, Yang, Tel. Additionally we have 4 association trained players - Spence, Solanke, Madds, Johnson. Buying another for the PL squad makes sense but you can only use 4 slots for AT players in UEFA rules.

So if you swap Wharton for Biss, it doesn't help us in Europe as he'd have go into the packed A-list. Gomes is the same. In fact Gomes would be club trained at Utd if he went back there. With a few of their's leaving, don't be surprised if they don't make a move for him.

I'll have to dig out the Ally Gold update.
As I said before, we should largely ignore CL squad when considering our signings and sign our squad with the PL in mind, though (as I also said before) signing a player like KWP specifically with club trained CL squad player in mind would be sensible.

PSG apparently putting Goncalo Ramos and Lee Kang-In up for sale.

Wouldn't mind either of them tbh - Ramos is a good foil to play with or instead of Solanke, and Lee is a fantastic playmaker with a low centre of gravity (whom I think has been misused as a winger, which doesn't suit him given his relative lack of pace).

Apart from the usual problems of a lack of money and lack of pull, the only hitch may be that Sonny and Lee may not get along after they got into a fight while playing for the Korean national team, but they're both adults and I doubt that will matter long-term.

Man United are only able to attract these players because of the money they will be offering, it certainly isn’t because of their state of the are stadium or their recent success.
No it's more than that, that's what happens when you're one of the biggest clubs in the world.

They have won far more during their 'baren' period than a club like us during one of our best periods (according to league postion). At some point they will be back at the top again, and players will be happy to come in thinking they will be part of making that happen and of course the wages are a factor but the biggest and best clubs pay the top wages like in any sport....

Well one will get you goals and other one will get you goals also … with both being hard working players.

I can imagine you getting wet about some average player joining us on £20k a week.

They need investment and are backing the manager. I think both could be very good signings for them and most other teams in the prem.
