Just saw this on the BBC, it’s my concern from the last 72 hours or so as well, feels like we are being a bit chaotic.


The Observer's Rory Smith believes Tottenham shortlisted "three completely different profiles of players" in their search for another left winger.

As reported by BBC Sport's Chelsea reporter Nizaar Kinsella, the Blues have accepted an offer for Mykhailo Mudryk in the late stages of the summer transfer window.

"This transfer chain between Cody Gakpo, Iliman Ndiaye and Mykhailo Mudryk is interesting to me," Smith said on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday NightClub. "They are all forwards who have played Premier League football, but that's literally the only thing they have in common.

"They might like the same soap operas - I have no idea - but other than that, it is really hard to see a pattern.

"Tottenham drew them up as their three contenders for the left wing spot, but they are all completely different profiles of players.

"These clubs spend so much money on analysts, data, information and expert scouts. If I was an owner, I would be asking: 'Have we not spent quite a lot of money on these smartest people in the room to spot bargains?'

"Fans have a different reaction to a player coming in for a bargain fee and doing well compared with a club spending a seventh of their entire revenue on a left winger.

"Nobody seems to be thinking any more, apart from the usual clubs."

We won't get Xavi or Odobert back until the Spring unfortunately, and even then they won't be back to full match fitness and sharpness.

I'm not expecting either to contribute anything significant this season.

Oderbert is 3 months ahead of Xavi. Possibly be in consideration for the Jan squad list.

Xavi had acl surgery on 5th May. Might see him by March 27

And Xavi Simmons.

“Xavi Simons… before March, April, he’s not ready.”

So with a fairly full squad as it is, it does seem questionable as to whether or not we will re add them to the squad list in January if we won't see either until maybe Feb but more likely March and thats assuming they both rehab well.

I'm gonna suggest the criteria are:
-PL experience
-Available
-Interested in joining the club that finished 17th twice in a row and could have very easily been playing Lincoln next weekend

(I'm also not convinced Mudryk counts as PL experience.)

I had no issue with Spence & Danso out, some doubts but to your larger point, back the manager

Mudryk? is a sign of terrible judgement, taking two players off Chelsea and helping them out, more brick judgement. In light of that, the other two decisions look different.

As always, time will tell.

I'll say this. IF we cannot do that as a fanbase, it'll be far more fudging toxic than having Richy or Tosin as our 4th/5th CB!!!!

Thing is, Tosin/Richi/Mudryk are self inflicted, poor judgement that creates toxicity.

Genuinely believe we would have been better off lowering the price (or paying Richi's loyalty bonus or whatever), promoting Hardy to 1st team and doing no other business, it would have been less "sour" than closing the window with two Chelsea rejects.
 
I.Sarr seems to have lost his gamble on a move to Liverpool - we should definitely test if there is opportunity there for Palace and Sarr to part ways.

0% chance before today; but deadline day does weird things

Realistically we'll be lucky if they're at match fitness by the start of next season - takes ages to recover and gain fitness then they tend to get recovering injuries. Pep was right when he said it would take Rodri a year to regain full fitness and expected him to peak for the world cup. Just look at Maddison as an example, looks way off and we probably won't get much from him till the new year.
 
So Sarr's Juve move is made permanent if they qualify for CL or EL and he plays 50% of games.

Nailed on surely? Juve have been very shrewd - Vicario in, Sarr in, Woltemade in, Kolo Muani back from loan.....

I think we need to write both these players off for this season and possibly think about finding a club we can register them with in Jan to get some games in their legs before the end of the season. Dunno if that's feesible
