Just find the whole U21 qualifying age totally confusing as under PL rules for home growns they use the end of the season as a cut off point which gives Odobert home grown status but he was over 21 on 1st Jan 2026 his birthday was in Nov 25.Tel is U21. The rule is you need to be under 21 at the start of the calendar year for the upcoming season. Worth noting Kudus appears twice on your list also
Adjusted list , looks like take out Takai and Sarr so still one spot available
1, Kinsky 2 Dubravka 3 Porro 4 Hecke , 5 Senesi , 6 VDV , 7 Robertson 8 Udogie 9 Tonali 10 Fernandes 11 Bentancur 12 Kudus 13 Savio 14 Richarlison 15 Marmoush 16 Deki 17 Takai 18 Sarr
We are not going to drop Robertson, the LB we just bought. He is also the primary backup LB for Udogie whose injury record is hardly stellar. Try again. Then Kulusevski and Simons
I agree Takai and Sarr go.
My point is that if Kulu and Simons are both likely to return before winter (Kulu definitely is) - or to make room for say Gapko - I would drop Robertson instead (give him cup games and a coaching role), as we have 3 other LBs.
Did we sign Marmoush on the Night Boat to Cairo?
Terrible, go and stand in the corner and face the wall!!He was brought to us on the wings of a dove.
Offer them Bergvall and Sarr for MGW and Nico Williams. Not this again hahah. Give them bergvall and money for MGW
Oh stop it, you’re an embarrassmentHe was brought to us on the wings of a dove.

Has a double swap ever happened before?

Ndiaye had 6 goals and 3 assists across 32 PL games last season.
Gakpo had 7 goals and 5 assists in 36 PL games last season.
Numbers not a million miles from each other.
Yes, I understand Gakpo's ability to play as a 9. It is a significant reason why I'd like him, as he offers dimensions we don't have right now.
We already have Savio and Kudus as elite dribblers, and Xavi likes to give it a go too. We don't have as much sheer power upfront of the kind Gakpo could bring.
I am not sure we could convince Ndiaye to come here given who we already have in the squad TBH.
I get he’s tall - we are lacking here - but is Gakpo good in the air? Genuine question. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed this about this part of his game. If he is, I get the logic. That is last season (where every Liverpool player bar 1 struggled).
If you look over the last 3 seasons, a few things pop up
- Gakpo has 43 goals in all comps (vs 21 in all comps for Ndiaye)
- Gakpo has played 154 games for club in 3 seasons (vs 117 for Ndiaye)
- Gakpo is 5" taller, and only one year older
Unless Ndiaye is really just "the cheap option"/some kind of Richi swap deal (and that in itself is an issue), not sure why we would go for him.
This team needs height and goals, Gapko is ahead imo on both of those.
Ndiaye's a fine player, but why would you choose him over Gakpo?
