Honestly can't see there ever being another Kante, the top top players are unique. I've seen nothing like Viera for instance.

I still would have liked us to have kept Paulinio for another season.
Strange decision all round, think he would have been happy to be in a rotational role, ended up going for something like 14M.
I thought it was ok when the plan was Gray as backup at 6 (even then, wasn't sure of the using Gray to close out a game), but with hindsight of we obviously knew Spence was going and Gray's playing time will be RB, think it's a miss.

The stereotype is that all Italian managers prefer the older, more experienced players, rather than kids with potential.RDZ would have preferred to have Tonali, Fernandez, Palhinha and Bentancur as his main 4 in my opinion. I think he'd swap Sarr and Bergval for Palhinha in a heartbeat. RDZ would then make his 5th CM Gray knowing Archie has RB coverage as well.
What we need to now happen is for Archie to show is runway as a CM. He is still the unknown quantity to me as we don't know how far he can go in the game. Obviously, in a good way.

I think this is very astute. I noticed during his post-match on Saturday, he mentioned Bergvall in context of a wider project (not verbatim but hinted - for the first time I have to say - that not every single move he makes is all him, that is it club-based even though he is doubtless getting supported heavily)...I also think he really wanted Palinha back. No surprise. The guy saved us.
I suppose the other thing is that we have to learn to cultivate that ourselves and cannot base it around him as he is older. Which makes your point about Gray on point (!!)...we really do have to see where he can go in that position.
