He isn't (and that by no means is claiming our are good), he's a 1 in 4+ striker that has 15+ seasons in PL with double figure twice (weirdly enough in last two seasons), Richi as e.g. has double figures in 5 out of his 9 seasons in PL.

Welbeck works hard, plays a part, but really shouldn't be anywhere near a side with any top 8 ambition (even in his prime)

They have vaguely comparable goal records but Welbeck is so far above Richie in terms of hold up and target man play that he more than makes up for the small short fall in goals. So yes using my eyes and watching both of them, if forced to pick between them Welbeck would suit better, cause fewer problems for the rest of the team and score a co parable low amount.

I wouldn't want either honestly, just that if i had to choose, i'd take Welbeck between the pair. i'd probably just about pick Solanke over both.

That defeats that argument then. One has played for two of the boldest clouds that are usually on the offence, the other a journeyman who never really got going until he went to a lesser team.

My friend I don't rate Solanke either. Depending on the time of day or the sequence of the moon i would pick Welbeck. Hell if I'm feeling like comedy I'd pick Richy. It's all much of a muchness.
