With Tynan, I'd love to know what United's scouts are seeing. I've always seen him as a big, boxy winger - low agility, mid-paced - who struggles to create separation. Technically decent, nice feet but lacking big time in terms of vision and execution (crosses, final pass)

Whenever he was trying to leave in 2025, with his reps contacting Arsenal, Chelsea, even Palace, there was no interest in him.

This year he upped his productivity, which generated buzz in the fanbase, but in terms of overall performance he wasn't impressive. Yet suddenly we're getting potentially £8m for him, when he quite literally couldn't give himself away a year earlier?

Strange deal. It'll be interesting to see if United are seeing something other clubs didn't or if they just got sucked into the hype of him scoring a few goals...which we all know at this level happens every season with a few random players (Bradley Fink, for example, was top scorer AND top assister a few seasons ago in the UEFA Youth League. He's currently playing for Wycombe Wanderers)

I've only seen him on Spursplay and I think he didn't look as impressive as Marcus Edwards at the same age, it's very hard to know how young players can develop.

For this lad, it seems the death of his father was a big reason behind a desire to move.
More broadly, I'm sure the changes over the last couple of years have muddied waters for some younger players but as far as a path to the first team is concerned, I don't know how real that ever can be. Apart from saying that if you're good enough and prove yourself over time then you'll be considered to become part of the first team squad.
And right now we have a new manager who is looking to immediately jump the team up maybe 14 places in the league and is focussing on players who he, as best you can tell, knows will be able to do a great job straight away. Which tends to rule out promotions from youth teams.

As far as the youth coach is concerned, he's moving on to a promotion. He's moving up the coaching/managerial ladder. There's something right with our recruitment and development as a fair few staff in recent years have gone on to roles with greater responsibility.

We won't have enough games this season for the fringe players, we also need to maximize results, at the moment I'd expect EL or higher is minimum goal, if we buy a winger and striker, it's probably CL. I'd also say RDZ would do well to target a domestic cup.

The next season or two are "fix it"/reset/refresh seasons, it will be about the results.

100% and the HG rule is another big consideration.

I'm fine with the current approach for the next 1-2 seasons but as part of the rebuild the pathway needs to be looked at for the longer 3-5 year plan. I doubt De Zerbi will be here for more than 3 seasons and we should be doing succession planning now for both the squad and backend setup so we don't end up in another mess further down the line. As well as the results the constant chop of managers and styles just highlights how little planning was done behind the scenes, it ends up costing us a fortune in player churn as well.

It's fine to let them go but we can save a lot of money by using them as fringe players and sell them for a lot more after they've had a few 1st team appearances. I'm sure there must have been someone who should have filled in for a few games over the last couple of seasons.

I think that can apply to the players that have gone out on loan and played men’s football and shown they can compete. Lankshear, Moore, Abbot as examples.

If one of Lankshear or Moore establishes themselves as part of the squad we will be fine.
