Transfer thread

Also, 2 years ago I remember everyone was excited about being in the race for Neto (when Chelsea splurged their cash and guzumped everyone to signings like we are now) and now I see a meltdown all over Twitter. Has he been terrible for Chelsea? I cant say I have watched him a lot, although I know he starts ahead of all their other 14 wingers!

In that case id be very happy with both

If it’s a case of spending around £100M on Savinho & Neto with at least £300k in wages for the pair of them. I’d rather just give that to one elite level player if we could attract them.

I am concerned by our striker options. Will we bring in Savinho, Neto and a #9??

For this lad, it seems the death of his father was a big reason behind a desire to move.
More broadly, I'm sure the changes over the last couple of years have muddied waters for some younger players but as far as a path to the first team is concerned, I don't know how real that ever can be. Apart from saying that if you're good enough and prove yourself over time then you'll be considered to become part of the first team squad.
And right now we have a new manager who is looking to immediately jump the team up maybe 14 places in the league and is focussing on players who he, as best you can tell, knows will be able to do a great job straight away. Which tends to rule out promotions from youth teams.

As far as the youth coach is concerned, he's moving on to a promotion. He's moving up the coaching/managerial ladder. There's something right with our recruitment and development as a fair few staff in recent years have gone on to roles with greater responsibility.
ok so its just that there is less immediate opportunities in the first team and nothing more

He’s just less terrible than the others. He looked electric for wolves, but having seen him at Chelsea he had a dip in confidence and form, Chelsea fans got on his back and hasn’t been able to shake that.

His form after that has been erratic being in and out of the first team. That coincided with the manager situation that they had.

I think that he would thrive under RDZ.
