Eberechi Eze

Just curious... would people have preferred Eze to Kudus and - more importantly - would he have been a better or worse fit for our needs?
I've already said that I wouldn't. I think Maddison is a better player than Eze in the centre and, while Eze would've been good for Spurs coming from the left I think we are well stocked with left sided options (Tel, Son, Odobert, Richi, Moore). That combined with Eze's age and transfer fee and the fact that we are not a Chelsea type club with unlimited budget, suggested to me that Eze was not really a key signing for us. Conversely Kudus' best position is one where we probably do need reinforcement, is younger, has a lower transfer fee, fits into our wage structure and really wanted to join our club. Other than Mbuemo, who again seemed out of our wage budget, I can't think of many players I would rather have had over Kudus to come in to play as a RWF for us.

A West Ham fan at my office said to me today "you have just signed our second best player and the very best one in terms of potential for relative peanuts"

I think that RW competition is a bigger gap in the squad that CAM is so while we can all debate who we think is a better player in their respective positions, for me Kudus is the better signing for that reason alone.
Indeed. Eze on the other hand is a perfect signing for Arsenal in that he can immediately come in and replace the weakest member of their starting line-up on the left and can also provide cover for Odegaard in the centre where they lack options.

Well I just hope he isn't a streaky player, because I would prefer to take an 'always turns up' player (Eze) regardless of position.

Rodrygo has been told by Madrid he can leave this summer. The goons are long time admires aren’t they? Surely they will go in for him and maybe leave Eze alone for us?

So the Goons are trying to 'structure' the deal. Wasn't this the issue we had last season with signing him. Or was our efforts more hindered with how Palace wanted the timeline of the fee paid?. Are they imposing the same demands on the Goons?

Structure a deal means they don't have the cash to pay it all up front which was Palace's demand.
