No, because it's been a re-occuring them for over 10 years now and players, owners of other clubs have made references to it.
With regards to Redknapp, I doubt he'd say we had bid for someone we hadn't. If anything he is too honest when it comes to transfer targets and will freely admit when we aren't in for players where you think why aren't we?
What about his recent Verthongen comments? He dismissed all talk few days ago while the player claims we're on the brink
You cannot be selective in what suits the agenda and dismiss the sound-bites which are deemed 'irrelevant' - not fair. Not long ago you claimed he had fabricated those massive bids in Spain last January as pure P.R.

no doubt Levy was lying to HR
Dismissed all talk? I thought he said he was interested in him and had watched him but that we hadn't made an official bid for him yet? Which at that time is quite possibly true, and maybe still be true.
Seems like Le Arse are about to break their transfer record with the signing of Yann M'Vila from Rennes.
The fee should be about ?ú17.7m
Looks like Arsene is finally loosening the purse strings and wants his transfer business early this year - maybe to convince to RVP to sign a new deal

He categorically stated there were not talks with him whatsoever at a time the player was claiming the deal was close. Not to mention his interview on ssn.com today
Would be thrilled if this is all true.
Ajax star Jan Vertonghen has dropped a huge hint that he is set to join Tottenham this summer.
The Belgian defender was talking after being winning the Dutch Golden Boot presented by De Telegraaf to the Eredivisie Player of the Year.
Arsenal were believed to be heading the chase for the 25-year-old, whilst Manchester United have also been linked.
But now Vertonghen has suggested that he could be on course for a move to White Hart Lane.
"I owe much to Ajax, I have always given my whole heart and soul for them. My appreciation for the club and the fans is great," said Vertonghen, who has encouraged his current employers not to stand in his way.
"It would be terrible if my departure would be a long and distorted situation as Ajax would keep asking for a great price 'till the bone'.
"Of course I want Ajax to become financially better, but the amount Tottenham are willing to pay, maybe with a little bit extra, is very reasonable.
"In a year from now I could leave the club for free. I hope Ajax are aware of it as the situation of Maarten Stekelenburg's transfer was very harsh. He only arrived at the end of pre-season at AS Roma. I want to flow in fluently, directly with the other Spurs players.
"Tottenham is a fantastic traditional club who play football in a way I like.
"Ajax was the perfect club for me, but Spurs will be very close in nearing that already. They buy young, eager and offensive-minded players."
Spurs' Rafael van der Vaart has already revealed he has encouraged Vertonghen to move to White Hart Lane, whilst manager Harry Redknapp confirmed his interest earlier this month.

I'd imagine that we aren't officially in talks yet then, but that we have spoken to his agent......
Oh, and can we please, please change the thread title. Please.
I believe they haven't had any money and this is the first transfer window where they'll have significant disposable income from the extra revenue from their stadium. How ironic would it be if they had the cash to splash but failed to get Champions League next year?! [-o<
Straw clutching - you know exactly what the point is here. His interviews are by no means a gospel - and that is bottom line.
Again - one cannot be selective in their reference
I have never said Redknapp's interviews are gospel. He just says what he believes at the time, and out it all pours. It could well be that Levy just isn't keeping him in the loop because his days are numbered (oh, how you'd LOVE that!) or it could be that Redknapp knows full well that we can't have Spurs publically accused of tapping up a player we haven't made an official approach for yet (even though all clubs do it, and usually agents are contacted well in advance of approaching the club to make a bid).
