Pep to Chelsea then?

The route is clear now

If they didn't think they could carry off AVB's football are they really going to be able to carry off Pep's?

In any case, he doesn't strike me as someone leaving to go to another job. It's clear he's knackered and wants a rest to rediscover his motivation and passion.

Lol......people just don't understand the Barca system.

They play a certain way, from the first team down to the under 7's!!

Guardiola managed the B team prior to managing the 1st team and he did Ok didn't he?

We need to adopt the same thing in this country/club

this

But hold on, he has only managed the 'b' team - surely they should be appointing someone with a proven track record !!!!

indeed, it is not like a manager who has only managed the B team would be capable of winning 2 CL trophies in 3 years or 3 league titles in a row

We will see, managing the B team and coaching is definitely not the same as managing a club like Barca.

Can he play mind games with someone like Mourinho? what happens when he loses 1 or 2 El Classicos in a row (or gets spanked), can he deal with that.

I think it's more a case of the next manager is probably on a hiding to nowhere anyway, someone internal, less fiscal risk and only upside. If he fails, it helps reset expectation for the next big name appointment.

I've hated him ever since the morning of the League Cup final where he proceeded to slag off Hoddle BEFORE the match and also basically insinuated that Freund wasn't fit to lace his boots and that Hoddle made a massive error choosing Freund as the first team regular over him. Great pre-match preperation that. Then during the final? Sherwood gave one of the most gutless displays I've ever witnessed and completely bottled it against Mark Hughes in midfield. Sherwood was literally pulling out of 50/50's.

Utterly disgraceful performance from him, especially after he had been giving it the big one in the media before the game.

Now THAT I remember.

Got completely turned over by a 40 yo striker playing defensive midfield. Awesome work, Timmie.

Everton v Fulham 1-1
Stoke v Arsenal 2-1
Sunderland v Bolton 1-2
Swansea v Wolves 3-0
West Brom v Aston Villa 2-0
Wigan v Saudi Sportswashing Machine 2-1
Norwich v Liverpool 2-1
Chelsea v QPR 2-0
Tottenham v Blackburn 3-2
Emirates Marketing Project v Man Utd 0-1

It has been said numerous times. Yet nothing has ever been done about it.

The fact that the winner of the europa doesn't get a place in the Champions League is a travesty.

A standing joke and an eloquent example of how badly the game is run by football's governing bodies.

Can't stand Deadwood. Hope he buggers off with all Redknapp's other mates.

Long term I'd like to see Inglethorpe and van der Vaart groomed as potential bootroom appointments.

Why does everyone think Bolton can beat Sunderland at Sunderland? Sunderland have lost once there in the league under MON and it was to a last minute goal.

Everton v Fulham 2-1
Stoke v Arsenal 1-2 (They're due.)
Sunderland v Bolton 3-1
Swansea v Wolves 3-1
West Brom v Aston Villa 4-1
Wigan v Saudi Sportswashing Machine 1-1
Norwich v Liverpool 1-1 (Liverpool losing again would be too funny to happen.)
Chelsea v QPR 2-1 (Chelsea haven't won a london derby this season, this will be their 8th attempt.)
Tottenham v Blackburn 3-1
Emirates Marketing Project v Man Utd 1-1 (City to go unbeaten at home, but United to win the title.)

------
Edit:

The Chelsea comment was about league games.... I know they got their ghost goal against us in the F.A Cup and I remember them cheating to get a penalty that was nowhere fudging near a penalty against QPR in the F.A Cup earlier too... That match finished 1-0... Cheating bastards.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine will struggle at Wigan as Wigan are no pushovers of late. A draw will be a good result for the toon IMO.

It would be, but Saudi Sportswashing Machine need to win, they have Chelsea away, Emirates Marketing Project at home and then have to go away to Everton... None of those 4 matches are easy at all. They can't afford to lose to Chelsea and have to make sure they stay ahead of them and us to get 4th, but with Chelsea having a very small chance of making 4th place pointless, they're in an unfortunate situation. To do so well in a season but to have it come down to those 4 fixtures competing with us, Arsenal and Chelsea for CL places with only one of those places a guarantee for CL football is extremely unlucky.

I'm not sure they can afford to even draw against Wigan because they can't go into the match against Emirates Marketing Project needing to win.

(They have a goal difference of 11, which is significantly less than Chelsea and our 18 and way less than Arsenal's 24. So they're effectively 3.5 points behind Arsenal, 2.5 ahead of us and 3.5 ahead of Chelsea. Everyone does have a game in hand over Arsenal though.)

I'd be over the moon with all those, although a draw on Monday night would be better as City would still have an outside chance of the title going to SJP.
I could live with draws at Stoke and Wigan if I was told it would guarantee a Spurs win tomorrow
