But hold on, he has only managed the 'b' team - surely they should be appointing someone with a proven track record !!!!

The Barca boot room! I wish Spurs at least tried to adopt a similar system. The last Spurs Manager who talked about it was Hoddle.
Personally I'd love for the next Manager to be somehow have affiliations with Spurs, his number two to be the same (and step up if necessary to replace the Manager when the time comes). Won't happen though unfortunately!
Could mean we get Sherwood. Would you be happy with that?

Sherwood might talk a good game but has done nothing to prove himself. I would be mortified if we gave him the job!
If, 5 years down the line, we have had a successfull manager in (for the period) with Tim as his assistant then I would be more open to it for sure.
Nope, because I hate Sherwood personally. And I'd want an experienced Manager to kick the whole thing off anyway.
not if their playing system in etched into theirs and the coaches brain they dont.
this is why i'm always amazed at how people seem to think that the playing stle of barca now is significantly different to when ronaldinho , etoo and yaya toure were playing there successfully during their respective times. the playing style and system has always been the same and like arsenal they have ONE styel of playing (albeit the best players on earth to implement it)...they tried varying it up but it ended up a failure in ibrhimovic....but more to do with the player than the idea.
seriously, they'll be fine
You know sherwood personally?
He's always seemed like a decent enough bloke to me..
I've hated him ever since the morning of the League Cup final where he proceeded to slag off Hoddle BEFORE the match and also basically insinuated that Freund wasn't fit to lace his boots and that Hoddle made a massive error choosing Freund as the first team regular over him. Great pre-match preperation that. Then during the final? Sherwood gave one of the most gutless displays I've ever witnessed and completely bottled it against Mark Hughes in midfield. Sherwood was literally pulling out of 50/50's.
Utterly disgraceful performance from him, especially after he had been giving it the big one in the media before the game.
My Barca mate is really pleased about this appointment... in his words 'Tito used to train the legendary 12-year old Bar?ºa team where Pique, Cesc and Messi played together and apparently he is a top analyst of football' I think it is good that Barca have the quality of backroom staff that you can simply slot someone in... he knows the players, the club, the style.... and I guess he knows the expectation!
Does he like Tim Sherwood though?
Hold on, I'll IM him!
