The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

so, how good is this Josh Onomah

He's quite highly thought of and is progressing nicely for a 16-year old - he's also in the England U-16 squad.

Luke Amos, Harry Voss (GK) and Christian Maghoma are the other three Spurs players currently with the England U-16s.

Tottenham winger David Bentley admits his new Rostov teammates love taking the mickey over his lack of Russian.

Harry Redknapp used to joke at Tottenham that during their training sessions at Chigwell *players would knock crosses *towards Roman Pavlyuchenko and the Russian striker’s interpreter would be there jumping for it as well.

Bentley admits his new team-mates enjoy giving him a similar ribbing.

He told the Sunday Mirror: “I have got someone who is with me a lot of the time and the boys give me a bit a stick, but he’s all right.

“The manager speaks slight English, so it’s just for meeting times and things like that really.

“Obviously, I do struggle with the language but it’s pretty much fine.

“My team-mates give me some stick – they say we English only stick to our island and don’t go anywhere else or speak any other languages.

“I’m learning Russian, I’m *trying to learn the hellos, goodbyes, the greeting words really and you can pretty much get by on that. It’s just a case of having respect."

Is smith playing?

read a great report on him the other day for the under 21's he is looking impressive. I would suggest we start to give this lad a go, you never know he might suprise us all and i don't think he will be any worse then walker(not hating walker) would be good for competition.

No mate, he's away with the England U21. Hit an absolute belter in training before they flew to Serbia as well.

Final score at Southampton was 4-2 to Spurs with a second half brace from Ceballos. Conceded a late o.g.

Spurs have now scored 21 goals in their 6 U-21 matches played so far - the highest number in the League.

Now if we could only sort-out the bloody defence...

The Southampton own goal yesterday was credited to Ceballos on the official Spurs site.

He now becomes the second Spurs U-21 player to score a hat-trick in the League this season after Ryan Mason's three goals at home to Stoke City.

Harry Kane also scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 Spurs XI friendly win at Southend United.

Decent performance by Smith, Rose red carded again after a so-so performance in U-21 tonight.

apparently they were doing monkey chants at him and throwing rubbish at him he kicked the rubbis in anger and got a second yellow. Im as far removed as can be from those PC people but i do hate racism is such a stupid thing and i hate to be considered stupid. I do not blame rose for tonight and would imagine he would get the red over turned.

Serbia and that part of the world need to grow the fudge up, abusing someone just because they have darker skin then them. I bet FIFA do not do anything to them, im just glad enhlish fans behave themselves now because if we had anything like that FIFA would kick us out of football for 10 years and come to england and put knifes in every football in the country.

Im sure the EU will give more of our money to Serbia so they can do racial awareness courses and the like, that will be the EU's next game plan with regards to taking more of our money the fudging ****s that they are.

Rose did not deserve the red.

Tottenham's Bentley admits career regrets

Submitted by tribalfootball.com on Wed, 10/17/2012 - 07:10

Tottenham winger David Bentley admits he has regrets over his career.

The 28-year-old, who is currently on loan at Russian side FC Rostov, had spells at Arsenal and Blackburn before joining Spurs.

And he believes that he has understood what he did wrong in those days.

“I thought I was James Dean in the day - if I saw a cliff, I’d want to jump off it,” he reflected. “I think being a bit more boring would have helped me earlier in my career.

“I used to love players like Gazza [Paul Gascoigne] and Eric Cantona for their personalities as much as what they could do with a football. But there is so much pressure in the game now, I don’t think top players or managers have a laugh and joke any more.

“Whether that has improved the game or is killing the game, I don’t know.”
