Probably just regurgitating the AS story.

Supposedly we refused £40m from Chelsea last year, we have being refusing Madrid's offers all summer, including one of £28m, and now settle for £25m. Sounds like Levy is losing his touch.

Nobody really knows though. The Chelsea bid could've been 5 mill upfront then 3 x 5m payments followed by loads of unrealistic add-ons that may never have actually taken it to anywhere near 40m whereas the Real Madrid bid could be 25 lump sum now + a player, or some other more realistic add-ons that just haven't been quoted.

There really is no way of getting enough detail to realistically crunch the numbers when all we have to go on is the papers.

So, it's confirmed: Fernando Llorente will not renew his Athletic contract. Huge pity.

Man, if he ends up somewhere else in the PL it's going be gutting.

amazing Chelsea arent after him, perfect Drogba replacement

Kaka has reportedly agreed terms with AC Milan - and that could smooth the way for Luka Modric to complete his move to Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move back to the San Siro, where he spent six years before moving to Madrid for a fee of £59m in 2009.
And although Milan are yet to agree a fee with Madrid for the 30-year-old, SportMediaset have claimed that personal terms have already been negotiated.
That could impact on the protracted saga of Modric's proposed move to the Bernabeu.
Tottenham have refused to sell the Croatian international unless Madrid meet their asking price, which is thought to be around £40m.
The Spanish side have so far failed to do so, but if they can recoup around £12m for Kaka they may be willing to spend more on Modric.

He is a big player with ambitions. No way in hell would he join a nearly club. The big boys will be after him.

Chelsea look set to miss out on Alvaro Pereira as the Porto defender nears a switch to Napoli, according to reports in Portugal.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claims Napoli are ready to pay £780,000 to take the 26-year-old on loan for a season, with the option to secure his signature permanently for £7m next summer.
The advancement of Pereira’s transfer has been accelerated by the breakdown of his relationship with coach Vitor Pereira, with the Porto boss angered by the full-back’s recent fight with a team-mate in training.
Pereira, the Uruguay international, has been linked on and off with a move to Chelsea since last summer, when former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas replaced Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge.

From the SS news...

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has revealed they are in talks to sign to Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.
