fighting C*ck reporting: Gylfi, vertonghen and steven defour, plus AVB at Press conf 2pm.

Nice, we can now categorically strike off "fighting C*ck" as a flimflam merchant. That was very good of him to make up something so near in the future so as to not string us along for too long!

im a spaz when it comes to betting, just checked and some have stopped taking it (William Hill) so I take it this is not a good bet if you want to put money on??

No, you would have to bet £100 to win just £1.

They are pretty certain he is the man.

You can do the bet the other way around on places like betfair, ie, bet that he WILL NOT be the manager (although you would have to check the odds - might/are likely to be different).

I googled "asshat" and I was redirected to this thread. Probably because Danny Rose has been mentioned a few times.

Whoever said we're not signing anyone until the 31st of August was right. It's the Spurs way. It's evil, but it's necessary, kind of like a hangover. Then again, it's perhaps not that necessary. Hangovers are keen reminders of why we drink. Hey is that a Snickers bar?

Roy Hodgson. I brick you not.

Spurs close to AVB appointment

By Harry Harris, Football Correspondent

Andre Villas-Boas is due to be appointed the new Tottenham Hotspur manager by Tuesday.

Villas-Boas was holding talks with the club on Monday as to whether he would sign a three-year or four-year contract, and an official announcement was due to follow.

An ESPN source confirmed on Monday: "Discussions are taking place today and, once they are concluded, expect the club to make an announcement. Andre Villas-Boas is the man the club are planning to appoint"

Spurs had also considered Laurent Blanc and Ralf Rangnick, while David Moyes had been a serious contender before chairman Daniel Levy cooled his interest.

Danny Rose regularly takes the tinkle on Twitter, it probably means absolutely bugger all and he's just doing it because he knows the fans are dying for some news.

Or maybe not regularly, but last transfer deadline day he, along with Tom Huddlestone, were posting 'WOW! Can't believe who I just saw at the Lodge!' type comments, and I think it even got reported on SSN. It's nothing.

Benny's tweet though, fudging hilarious.

How much closer are we today than we were yesterday or Friday or the week before?

Spurs had also considered Laurent Blanc and Ralf Rangnick, while David Moyes had been a serious contender before chairman Daniel Levy cooled his interest.

They've been running that line in almost every piece written about this and it's BS.
