Yes. There have been reports that his buyout clause (mandatory in Portugal I believe) is around 35 million, although I'm not sure if that's pounds or euros. I don't think his potential cost would have changed much if at all.
Problem with him is that we would spend all the Modric money and get an (in my opinion) inferior player. Might be better to look elsewhere or try to insist on getting Sahin as part of the Modric deal.

Anyways Twitter rife with rumours as usual. Many saying Vertonghen was at the club yesterday and should be done (heard that before) today/tomorrow/weekend.
Also that AVB will be done today and Modric on his way out.

I have admired him for a long time and suggested we went for him before the competition started. I just feel due to him putting in MOTM performances in the last couple of games in 1 of the biggest competitions in world football may boost his price up even more.
I personally think we would not have much change from the Luka sale if we sign Moutinho. He is also still fairly young and could possibly become a better player than Modric IMO.
All very well coming up with statements like this but are we really going to be able to sign Moutinho given we can only pay 70k per week and arent in the CL? I would imagine that there will be plenty of clubs who want him given he's had a decent tournament and a number of clubs who can trump us financially. He's be a decent buy for either Manchester club, for Arse, Barca, maybe Real, Malaga would go for him, maybe a couple of the italians...

We knew he wanted to leave and should have a replacement lined up. But then we sack the manager, meaning we have no plan in place at all

Well the solution is obvious. Don't sell Modric unless it is for significantly more than we would spend on Moutinho. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pay more for an inferior player when we have a better one under contract.
30mil + Sahin (+ Kaka) or bog off.

Yep he's been very good. A bit dodgy positionally that might see him get roasted in the premiership but all in all he had a very good Euros (probably the most impressive RB tbh).
