Politics, politics, politics

Everyone uses what'a app etc in a work context these days in my world and I used to use it all the time when I managed a team in my previous job. No one cares about spelling, punctuation and grammar when on something like What's app on your phone, or even Lync in the office etc.

generally yes, but not Boris and senior officials in this govt, look at any Amber Rudd security interview, she's clearly never heard of it

Not doing herself any favours by not having much of a reshuffle - couple of minor swaps of position but only ministers to have their portfolio removed are those that were sacked by the electorate. Internal Tory party politics and her position within the party means from that perspective she can't really make any changes even if that doesn't go down well with the public.

Most have only been in post 9 months, so there's not particularly an operational need to freshen things up. It was generally seen as a positive of the Cameron government that he didn't reshuffle too much, allowing ministers to get into their brief and provide some consistency.

Also, who else would come in? Gove and Raab are about the only two heavyweights who weren't already in cabinet. Do you really want to see someone like Jacob Rees Mogg running education or health?!

As May is a social conservative, it's a very good thing she's being restrained and isn't able to flood cabinet with her loyalists. The balance/breadth is better like t.his

I don't think they are leaving her in charge, they just haven't sorted out who's going to challenge yet.

I agree, she surely won't last. But, imo, the longer she is there the worse they will do in the next election, so I'm glad she is there. Cameron would have quit the morning after.

nah, that lot on a whatsapp group, Boris not capitalising Thatchers name, using a stupid despcription of a prior PM and frankly the language used is not that of a classics scholar

I know the press are all over it (so not arguing at you Greg) but I don't believe it

Don't tell me you've never been shocked by the state of a supposedly intelligent person's text speak before?!

it won't be long, a fortnight at the most imo

When is the Tory party conference? I reckon if you work back 2-4 weeks from that time, that's when she will go. Then they can have a leadership contest and have the winner paraded at conference.

Hopefully, she really tried to cling on -- Zombie May.

I think challengers will out themselves imminently.

Yes I can see official handover being at the conference but the process will begin very soon imo.

Is she even calling the shots now?

It may cause a bit of damage....BUT get the right person in spitting badass lyrics and you're back in the game.

Boris will be bursting to further his true life long ambition.
He will be very twitchy, been dreaming of this day for many many a year.........
It's why Gove has been bought back into the inner sanctum, he's head of the anti-bojo squad.....

Surely the timing is awful though?

Why would you want to be a leader now? They're on a hiding to nothing for the couple of years at least.

You clearly haven't met many of them.

Like I said, compromise is unavoidable in coalition. When you're the minor party your choices are between some policies and no policies being put into action. Anyone unable to understand that doesn't deserve a vote.

I suspect the main reason many people are angry is because they didn't want a Conservative government but couldn't bring themselves to vote for such a clearly useless Labour PM.
Again like I say people understood that well, but tuition fees should have been one of the lines in the sand seeing as it was a very public promise and it secured them most of their seats. Instead they chose to betray their core voters. It's why Corbyn has become so popular because his supporters believe he is sincere and at this point they have no reason to question that.

Gove is a fudging time bomb leaves a trail of disaster wherever he goes. Why don't politicians learn they make the same mistakes time and time again.
