Agree with all of that but it’s all so depressing.

Our society and western society in general needs a fundamental overhaul. Our western media sneer about Russian corruption and banana republics but the truth is there’s just as much corruption and incompetence in the uk. And our corrupt media is just as much part of the problem as politicians and other western institutions.

Exactly, it is why the argument over two child benefit argument as absolute BS. The correct answer is they shouldn't be getting any benefits and tax breaks at all.

As at what point do you ask yourself how poorly does the 5th richest country in the world have to be run, that it gives working families benefits and tax breaks to help raise their kids.

Surely the minimum that and government should be aiming for is that working families (from minimum wage up) can earn enough money to raise their child, buy the foods and have decent living standard, and still have enough money left to save enough to take them out, go to the cinema etc without being saddled with crippling debt.

And you are right, it is so depressing, but don't let the tossers beat you, it is what they want, how did we mugs let it go so far.

Medical grade = financial scam

Anything that is tagged medical grade, is just a licence to print money. Monitors, TV's, the lot, exactly the same, but with £1000+ sticker added on.

The Tories were still blaming Labour for their financial inheritance 14 years after being in government, so it’s hardly surprising that Labour (which has inherited an infinitely worse economy) is still referencing the Tories’ mess less than 3 months into their government.

The grown-ups are in charge now. It’s not going to happen overnight, but I am convinced they will make the country a better place. They are getting on with things at quite a pace, which is heartening. They’ll make mistakes, for sure; that comes with the territory. But this time in three or four years we’ll see public services in a much better place, a country which is kinder in its outlook, and which has regained some of its respect on the international stage.

Meanwhile the Tories are still engaged in what they do best, populist culture wars. It’s like they haven’t learnt from the riots that politicians language needs to be tempered. Does anyone seriously believe they are fit for government? The slightly credible Tugenhat will lose out to the batbrick crazy Badenoch or the slimy Jenrick. Labour are learning for sure. The way they announced cutting the winter fuel allowance showed a party that still needs to sharpen its political instincts so do the “freebies.” But even on the latter they will struggle to out do the Tories for pure sleaze. Remember the bloke Johnson took a loan off then appointed high up in the BBC, or the Russian son of a former KGB agent who partied with leading Johnson before being appointed to the Lords or Owen Patterson and his lobbying? I really doubt that their majority will “evaporate” unless people want a return to chaos.
