Some national pride that we don’t really have.

Btw how old is the Highland Tradition? Kilts, tartan, the old songs - all the Braveheart nonsense?

A deal is crucial, even a poor one, but the negative effects of a hard brexit on top of covid will play into the SNP's hands come election time irrespective. They will have plenty of ire to draw on.You would think a no deal Brexit would make it a real possbility but if we get a deal of some nature than one would assume it would be a harder sell.
Despite what you might find online, the ‘Highland Tradition’ is largely invented. The kilt itself was invented by an English industrialist as a form of factory dress. The traditional ballads are mostly from Celtic Ireland and most tartan is from Victorian times [emoji23]
I imagine being in the single market is a massive positive and all that you produce already meets EU regs. I was reading that if the UK drop out of the EU then goods with protected status will lose that protection. The market for Scotch, for example, will literally be open to all comers anywhere.Yes I think brexit is a big issue, what impact will the cost of scexit have though?
There is no guarantee we get into the EU, our economy would be on austerity x 10 to meet eu regs, our biggest trading partner is England, etc.
The SNP are great at pointing out all the positives but never any of the negatives, it's all always a "trust us, it will work". No one but them is campaigning on this subject, so I would expect a rise, granted this is bigger than I expected, but when it comes to everyone having their said I would expect it to change.
The Chinese make cheap knockoffs of everything but my watches will still.come.from Switzerland and my clothes will still come from Italy.I imagine being in the single market is a massive positive and all that you produce already meets EU regs. When you weigh up all the pros and cons I honestly don't know where you come out but a case can be made I would think.
They'll be a bit more expensive in a few months but you'll be able to buy cheap british knockoffs soon. The Chinese make cheap knockoffs of everything but my watches will still.come.from Switzerland and my clothes will still come from Italy.

Minor technicalities and loads of new jobs by the sounds of it .We will belong to no markets though, EU or UK.
We have no idea of the basics, currency, lender of last resort, central bank, pensions and an almost limitless list of other things.
There will need to be a withdrawal agreement from the UK to be negotiated, trade agreements with everyone else, and all this at tge same time.
And thats along with setting up new ministries and govt departments.
That's the bits the SNP don't want to talk about.
If brexit is complicated, scexit is a nightmare. And a bloody eye-wateringly expensive one.

Ouch. That's about the worst insult you could have thrown at me.Mr farage, is that you?

Oh I was being sarcastic and agreeing with you. Still though no need to stoop as low as calling someone FarageI realise that, but it wasn't meant to be. I thought you were being sarcastic and in agreement with me.
See it More a comment on that's the kind of "half truth" and positive spin farage and his ilk put on brexit, never any mention of the downsides.
In my opinion the biggest impact brexit will have on a possible scexit is the Indy sides adoption UKIP style propaganda.
