***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs. Saudi Sportswashing Machine***

Our passing and first touch are simply not good enough. Add to that brainless decisions by players such as Royal when we are trying to put the pressure on. We also just didn’t exploit any width. One good cross from perisic where he cut inside otherwise nothing. Really disappointing today.

Yea It was I think, we seem to be on the wrong side of a lot of these 50/50 decisions that VAR can’t overturn lately. Hugo shouldn’t ever have made that an outcome though, just deal with it.

True, but we got away with one today as well when we scored the offside goal from the corner. Swings and roundabouts, imo.

I've always said I could probably live with a season on Mourinho-ball, or now Conte-ball, IF, it brings us a trophy of sorts. But with City's riches and our fear of Chelsea and semi-finals I dont see where we can win that trophy.
I doubt I am not alone in saying we cant keep watching this style of football if it is not going to bear fruits

We have 3 realistic chances of a trophy under Conte or any other manger imo.

Europa
FA Cup
League Cup

All of those are still in tact. Somehow Conte has to get them playing like the back end of last season but that’s looking increasingly more difficult with no Kulu.

Just a note on the system. Dropping in a 3rd CM only works if it’s an Eriksen type. Not a Bissouma type into an already defensive setup.

He's not very good, is the answer. A liability, a bit of a dim brick that occasionally is passable and frequently sub-par, rarely good.

The day we bin him, Sanchez, Davies and the other mediocre players and actually bring in proper defenders across the back like Romero et al who can read the game and actually play the ball, you will see a sea change.
I have to disagree on Dier @DubaiSpur. Royal is a waste of space for me and definitely shouldn’t be playing at the same time as Sanchez who imo is a decent back up defender. Our problem today imho is we didn’t stretch the pitch we kept playing centrally. So Saudi Sportswashing Machine just packed the central areas with big units like Dan burn.

Sanchez didn’t touch it, if he had VAR would have given it. Offsides aren’t subjective, fouls are.

It looked like he did, though - ball bounced slightly going past his shoulder. They just couldn't be 100% sure it did because white ball + white shirt = difficult to make out. But usually in those cases, you see them err on the side of caution and disallow it - they gave it this time.

No you don’t. If they can’t tell conclusively they go with the on field decision I.e goal in this case.

They can’t unless they are 100% right
Didn’t see any movement on the massive screen I watched
Considering the fouls they gave and the goal that stood … I’m amazed it wasnt over turned

There was no evidence of any touch by Sanchez, they looked at it for long enough. The ball didn’t deviate direction, the spin of the ball didn’t change, The ball wasn’t touched, hence it wasn’t offside and it was a perfectly legitimate goal, so nothing got evened out.

His distribution constantly leads to being under pressure. Look at how keepers that are good passers start off moves, with Lloris he's just as often starting moves for the opposition as he is for us
Let's be real, more often he's starting attacks for them. His passing is brick. He's not a ball playing keeper and he never has been. It's a failing of our management (Poch, Jose and now Conte) that they keep trying to play the ball at the back with a Lloris in goal. He's brick with the ball at his feet. Then add usually Dier and Davies and my GHod that's a horrible trio of players being asked to play keep ball at the back. They can not do it.

On Dier, fair enough, I'm aware it's a minority opinion. But I think with time, it's becoming clearer why I've had that opinion for years now - imo, he is utterly mediocre, and always will be. A Connor Coady without the passing or the leadership.

On Sanchez, nah, I fully disagree there. He's utterly brick and one of the greatest mistakes we've made in on the market in a decade, purely because he cost so much and has lasted so long despite obvious flaws that every manager has recognized - Mourinho literally took the tinkle out of him on camera for his terrible passing, telling him he brick himself when given the ball.

Every single defender in the Premier League, and I am not joking - every single one - is better than him on the ball, and the majority off the ball. He cripples us when he plays, and given Romero picks up knocks a lot, he plays far too much for a club our size. If he was seventh- choice, wheeled out for a Carling Cup game every year, fair enough - but he starts far too often.

The worst thing is that in a lot of games this season, especially these last two, and against Arsenal, we've looked 2nd best at EVERYTHING, even effort, determination, and will to win. We've looked so flat and uninterested it's scary! We've been swept away because the opposition wants it more, and put more effort in! That is shocking!!!
