***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs. Saudi Sportswashing Machine***

I get the idea of playing the ball from the back but it doesn’t work for us, defenders certainly today aren’t comfortable or quick enough on the ball to make it work, we need a ball player in centre mid and quick. We need another Modric

Back to back losses against we're supposedly far superior than, cording to most in here. We're just not. We're gonna struggle to get top 4.

We just lost 6 points to the 2 teams that may be challenging us for top 4 at the end of the season. Forget catching Arsenal or Emirates Marketing Project, were going to struggle to keep our top 4 position at this rate .

After that spineless performance at united I really thought they would come out and redeem themselves but it was not to be

Can’t fault the effort of the players to be honest. They huffed and puffed. We just didn’t have enough quality. Emerson, Sanchez, Skipp decent. Moura okay. The rest…not so much.

Talk of dropping Hugo is madness by the way.

I do fault the effort, when you are technically superior you can only be beaten if the opposition work harder than you.

Making a bad pass, bad touch, stupid fudging decision, that's all down to lack of effort, not just physical effort, mental effort too.

The worst of the lot today was Lloris, by a long margin.

But Sessegnon, Dier and Sanchez were all varying degrees of useless, while up front Son was terrible (as is unfortunately becoming common). Bissouma was sub-par, Skippy understandably rusty.

Only ones with any real credit today are Kane and Bentancur. The rest, varying degrees of brick.

And Conte, learn from this. Keeping it tight and hitting on the counter is ugly football, and relies on a level of solidity, courage and nastiness these players do not have. They are spineless.

Let them play more - we might lose, but we will look a bit better doing it than the current brand of cinderblock football we play.

Sign of a bad team when you can’t even build any pressure in the last 15 mins when losing at home. Ball barely went in the box.

Problem with this style is as soon as the results turn you will get zero patience from fans and the media will be all over it.

Yep all of this

Look I can accept that loss was on Lloris factually but it also just feeds the lie that we are telling ourselves that these performances are out of character. But the truth is we are a passive side that hasn't played on the front foot this season and have looked largely unspectacular. Like I said earlier, I was hoping the slow lethargic performances when we managed to win were just us not clicking, but it's looking like they are the norm.

If you can't have the away side pegged back at the end of a game like that then you don't deserve nothing, no urgency, so slow, it's all a bit boring

Boooooooo

So 2 Loris howlers gift them the game but truth be told we did not deserve anything today. So many of our player seem to lose the ability to play the right pass at crucial times, or keep hold of the ball way too long.
The frustration of being a Spurs fan. Its the hope that kills you every year. And can anyone tell me how we are 3rd in the table after some of the performances we have made this season?

Hugo gets no credit for a terrible, lofted pass that was easy to intercept?

He was so bad it's sort of a given, I think. He kept playing those, too - even at the end when we badly needed to keep the ball and build something, he lofted a useless pass up that Joelinton won with ease.

it's pathetic to say but i'd probably bite your hand off for a draw now....against fking Saudi Sportswashing Outfit...at HOME!
they aren't bad, their project seems to be going well, we seem to have stopped in our tracks, and missing key players, we've regressed.

Now everyone can see what Conte was on about needing a few more windows.

Still fuming from Wednesdays game, thought today would be a whole lot better but as so many times before same old pile of muck.
A few people on here have said before the match today that Wednesday's result was just a blip. Never the case with Spurs.
Even if the next match we play out of this world I'm sure we will just revert back to type once again. Seen it happen so many times.
Probably will get a load of dislikes for tgis but In reality I think it's true

Dier fudged up for first goal. Soon as Lloris clashed with Wilson, he froze. He should have run back to cover but was as if he was waiting for a freekick. How a professional footballer, our central centre back, is not playing to the whistle is beyond me.

He's not very good, is the answer. A liability, a bit of a dim brick that occasionally is passable and frequently sub-par, rarely good.

The day we bin him, Sanchez, Davies and the other mediocre players and actually bring in proper defenders across the back like Romero et al who can read the game and actually play the ball, you will see a sea change.
