*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa FC ***

What a second half performance. Flat in the second but sparked to life by a couple of players stepping up massively. First, Son with his cross to Johnson, then Ben Davies with his challenge in the build up to the second. Solanke too, obviously, with his finishes. Massive credit to Sarr and Johnson and the work they got through. Spectacular win.

3 points vs Ipswich, come back from the international break and that's when we really start to look like an Ange Postecoglou team.

Good result.

Glad Solanke got a couple.

But it doesn't hide some glaring issues. First half we created nothing of substance, just some speculative shots from outside the box (Which was good to see)

Better 2nd half, quicker play and more aggressive, but our crossing for the majority of it was appalling.

We had 4 moments. Son's cross for the first goal, was the first cross he made of any substance.

2nd goal came from good play, but that was the first chance Kulu made all game, was a deft touch too.

3rd Goal come from a disaster pass from Villa, but well taken from Sarr, good pass to Richy, Richy with a lovely cross for Solanke smash home.

Finally a great goal from Maddison, for the first time in a long time, a goal from a free kick.

Happy with the win.

Drag's had a great game and highlights how slow and ponderous Romero is on the ball and didn't miss him.

Big calls from Ange today, Maddison on the bench, Son coming off....Definitely paid off and a much improved second half after struggling to create anything in the 1st.

By necessity it looks like we have stumbled upon a solid CB partnership in Davies and Dragusin.

Sarr emerging as an important player after an iffy start to the season.

Beautiful second goal with some lovely first time passing and a delightful finish. For all Dom's hard work he deserved a couple of goals.

An actual direct free kick goal, seems like a throwback.

Negatives were ludicrous tackles by Bents, Porro and Romero, another injury for Richy and the set piece conundrum - We aren't always going to score 4 goals to save the defender's blushes.

@ The squabbling bunch, it's fun to bicker and whilst I could happily wade in given the BS posted in here, maybe stfu and enjoy the result instead!

What a change that was that when the board went up with 10 minutes on I wasn't having a meltdown. Thought our game management was superb and the players were still running their socks off. Even Brennan was chasing back even though he looked like he had picked up a calf niggle to me. And what an engine Solanke has, he covered so much ground

yes. This was vital

I love all the people
Yeah, you seem over the fudging moon as usual.
Not my fault we couldn't create toffee for most of the game, especially the first half.

I can only say it as it was... If people want to bury their head and ignore the problems, go for it.

Like I said, happy with the win... Happy for Solanke, Drag's. Sad for Richy as he deserves so much better than the injuries he is getting.

But I am not going to stop pointing out glaring problems, to pander to peoples butt hurt feelings who only every want to look at everything with rose tinted glasses.

Good win, doesn't hide so many issues.

What a start to the weekend. What a finish to the weekend (because I am not bothered what the result is between Chelsea and United- every outcome has a plus)

If that’s Angeball, I’m in love. Absolutely fudging outstanding. Even the first half was good.

Negative stuff first. Villa were a disgrace. Timewasting from the start. Going down injured. If they’re a top club, I’m an Arsenal fan.

But us…

Radu, brilliant. Davies when he came on, really really good. Deki, brilliant. Bentancur, best player on the pitch first half. Dom, ran his socks off. Sonny, what a ball. Looked really good when he came off. Assume it was fitness. Big Dom…worked like a fudging dog and what a finish for the first.

But Sarr…wow. A complete midfield performance. If he plays like that, he’s in every week. Ran the show.

fudging proud as punch today. That was a performance.
No it wasn't.

But the 2nd half was much better.

Agree with this. I said Son would come off after 60 mins due to fitness but was surprised when Ange actually subbed him as he was purring at that point but credit where it’s due, it was the right call.

Not sure about the partnership re Dragusin and Davies but at least Dragusin should get some game time now at least.

Also agree about the tackles, Romero in particular, he just can’t help himself can he.

Re set pieces, for me it’s getting to the point where Vicario either needs to improve like yesterday when it comes to dealing with them or we need to look for another keeper. It affects the rest of the team (particularly the defence) when the goalkeeper is nervous.

Probably need Davies and Dragusin fully fit for Ipswich next week, may need to cobble together a CB pairing for Thursday night
No, play the best we can. This is why loaning out Philips, not including Djed and Reg in the list was so fecking stupid.

We always gamble with stuff like this and we never win and we never learn.

I don’t think the first half was good tbh, we didn’t create anything. Second half was fantastic though!
