***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v ACF Fiorentina***

Great game to watch, and I was very pleased with the strong team we put out. We also owed Fiorentina for the way they dumped us out last year, so it's good to get some revenge. :)

Lamela should start against Swansea over Son, given his effervescence today.

Lamela should start every game imo, crucial to our system

Hmmm maybe but this win will worthless without backing it up.
I've been saying all along that Poch hasn't changed the team enough to prevent any slacking in the league games coming up.
I would have started CCV and Wimmer, left Ali out altogether.
A defeat tonight isn't as bad as dropped points on Sunday.
I blo&dy hope I'm wrong
Geez mate, we beat the 3rd best team in Italy 3-0. Take 4 seconds and enjoy it!

Poch is effing amazing isn't he? Best Spurs manager in my lifetime by a distance (I'm 38)

I'm 52 and whilst i will freely admit that whilst I wasn't crazy about him getting the job I'm very impressed. Still has a way to go to match Burkinshaw in my lifetime, but I have every confidence that he will do so and more. Great win tonight , we controlled the game pretty well and took our chances. Roll on Sunday

Great performance and result! Incredible how far we've come in 12 months! It's on the verge of ridiculous!

Loved the Park Lane / Shelf sing off!

if anybody has videos of today's singing, please share it here! I badly miss that atmosphere...

upd: already found, but can't paste it(

Fabulous atmosphere I was in the middle of block 27 .World record for the sing off and non of the moaning negativity that usually permeates through WHL.This team is special.

Trying to out sing the shelf was quality, and we even got a song from Paxton @paxtonwolf ! Signing one of our own to Mason was a nice touch too. Great game to take my seven year old to. COYS!

"Even while he sat out the win against Fiorentina with a broken nose — sustained against Crystal Palace the weekend before — it was like his ghost was still haunting White Hart Lane.

The atmosphere felt flatter, the voices quieter, no call for the ‘Harry Kane, he’s one of our own’ chants which frequently punctuate the action whenever he influences play."

I really am mate. Considering some of the pre-match concerns I'd seen aired (not shared BTW!) i most certainly am! In Poch We Trust.
are you online?

Get the custard out son we going to have some fun, it will also help if you have a cucumber in the fridge. To be honest I am very drunk tonight, got kicked by a woman on the train back to shoreham for snoring, If I had had the energy i would have kicked her back, but she was ugly and i thought her life was probably tough enough as it is what with being so fudging ugly. Damn I am turning into a soft liberal these days.

Good game tonight I was very impressed with wimmer and tripper.

The one downside is that constant crap noise before the game when I can not hear myself think and when in the second half the whole we are the shelfside etc got going. I said to the idiot next to me who kept shouting we are the shelf side. "if you wish to tell them oiks over there who you are it is your business but stop putting your arms out and poking me in the eye in the process.

What a tw*t.

Thought it was fairly noisy tonight and I am not one who goes in for that, mason got the one of our own thing instead and we had 10 minutes of macarons shouting to each other about where they were sitting.

I am in a good mood though and I do not mind that much that someone tinkled on my suede shoes in the bogs at half time,

Does anyone know whats good for cleaning tinkle of suede shoes.

I like the band suede, the singer fudged a male friend of the first wife, true fact.

Custard works a treat.

I remember coming home from the 81 Cup Final on the Metropolitan Line and my step-dad's Dad, miserable git, could only exclaim 'bloody bumpy tracks'. I can only imagine how he'd have reacted to people singing about where they were in the stadium.

What's that all about? Or was it just "We're the park lane Tottenham"

Just responding to Danishfurniturelover who had said "we had 10 minutes of macarons shouting to each other about where they were sitting". I love it when the stadium is singing, even if it is about stadium position. It sure beats "stand up if you hate…' and many other songs about former players and the like.

We have a 26 man squad not an 11 man team. Happy days.

Totally agree. Most of the teams we've had recently have been built around a few top class players — Bale, Modric, Berba, King, Keane, Carrick — some other good ones and always quite a few dodgy ones.

For the first time I can remember, there isn't a single player in our 25-man squad that makes me nervous (maaaaybe Vorm) when I see his name on the teamsheet. This is a real team with actual depth, and I can't remember enjoying watching a Spurs team this much.
