The wire starts very slow and takes a good few episodes to develop.. then you'll see the characters in depth and there are some great ones

Game of thrones. Very very good, yet very very bad at the same time. Much like Lost in terms of slow story development, yet very good character development.

Very let down by episode 10, ended on a wimper IMO.

Touch has got better as the end of the series draws near, glad I weather the poorer middle episodes, don't see where they can go with it longer term though.

Still a long way to go, just setting up the different characters for next season. Don't quite understand some of the changes they've made compared to the books though. They're obviously simplifying some things, making it cheaper/easier to film, other parts have been added/removed rather needlessly I feel.

finished the first and only season of Alcatraz. disappointing finale. not particularly good series, but by far not the worse thing on tv with the endless rubbish reality shows on. as posted earlier, would like to have seen how it developed in the second season. would like to reiterate that GoT should cast the lead and get her naked.

Really? thats dissapointing after a superb episode 9. Will there be a long wait until season 3?

The end seemed hurried to get a bit of closure. For me it was another JJ Abrams special. Start of with lots of questions, keep adding more questions, but never fully answer any of them.

fudging irritating innit? that's why the massive ratings drop off i reckon.

Wow anyone who doess not like the wire is mental.

Is simply the best t.v. show of all time i don't watch much t.v. like you guys, mainly sport but i got told by my sister to watch it the only time she ever told me to watch a t.v. show, she was right, amazing.

OK I mentioned it and got ignored................(sulk)

try watching Person of interest

as the series develops it gets better and better, really looking forward to the second series

Thanks, gave Person of interest a try and so far think it's entertaining :)

I agree, glad I'm not the only one thinking that the 10th episode was a bit of a snooze fest. Haven't discussed TV here, but some of my friends seem to break out with allergies any time anyone says anything even remotely negative about Game of thrones...

If it was a standalone show I'd be far more negative towards it as the development is rather unevenly paced, but having read the books it's easier to keep up with and I'm mostly watching it to see if it's anything like what I have imagined it to be and for the changes they have made. Some things are made a lot more obvious in the tv show.

Thanks, that seems to make sense. Considered reading the books, but like with most things I thought it best to watch the TV show/movie first and then read the book later if my interest was still there.

Not saying it's bad in any way, and in some parts it's spectacular...

i only ever watch the first show of Big Brother just to see who the contestants are and if there are any hotties.

You know nothing, Braineclipse.

Marky, yes and no, they moved some bits from book 3 into season 2, and likewise some bits and characters that were in book 2 are not appearing until season 3. I suggest you read all of the books, because you really should anyway

:)

Would you agree with Jordinho that reading the books would add value to watching the TV-series?
