Gifter...Superband. Who'd be in it and why?

I'll mull that over and get back to you. Already I'm torn between vedder and cobain, and how will I fuse styles between guitarists, bassists etc.

The best bassist I've seen live was Les Claypool of Primus, but Mike Watt is a legend and will fit the rest of the bands style I'm going to create better!

Strewth I have no idea.

cornell, layne growling, cantrell's melodies, mccready....O:)

That would be one heck of a grunge superband 8)

Speaking of Chris Cornell, I see that he is doing an acoustic set at the Palladium on the 19th!

rose tints for me as grunge went into overdrive whilst i was at Uni and some great albums kept me up during those times. sadly, very little sex was involved.O:)

vedder, cornell and layne staley...awesome vocalists

the good old days..

Always thought Cornell was overrated...Cobain = genius, just brilliant, could sing like a lark and an angry bum in the same minute...Layne was really sad, such a smart, funny and talented guy who hit the dark path and couldn't get off it. By the end it was so bad, so ugly, you just wanted resolution for him. Yeah, Jerry's a fudging great player (if you haven't heard his solo album Degradation Trip I'd recommend it)..McCreadt? Yeah, never dug Pearl Jam...

anyone listen to classical music at all ?

just noticed that Youtube has a fair selection of full symphony's on there - any recommendations for stuff to look out for ?

This channel seems to have a good selection: http://www.youtube.com/user/ClassicalMusicOnly

Can't recall if I've posted this on this thread (probably on an older board if not);

Loved the underground back then, I do wonder if now I'm older I'm missing out on good edgy music nowadays. Loved how bands like Fugazi, NoMeansNo, AliceDonut never 'sold out to the man'.

Primus last year at Kongsberg Jazzfestival was pretty awesome, one of the coolest shows I've seen.

Didn't know they were still going, they never really captured their live sets on album back in the early 90's as they were notorious for being insane live (and lived up to it when I saw them back then).

Although just a three piece, the guitarist seemed to literally be struggling to make space for his sound with Claypool's insane bass!

You can see from the crowd in the video they were a really clusterfudge live, hope they still were Fhtagn.

Also liked Butthole Surfers on this tip, also very good and strange live.

I think LaLonde is a very good guitarist, probably one of the most underrated (I'm not much of a musician myself) around. But I understand what you mean, he'll always be in the shadow of Claypool, and he is a freaking awesome bassplayer. I think they've become a bit more mature, maybe not much, but they seemed very together at the stage. I was high as fudge so maybe I missed the fudgeups.

Butthole Surfers is great, haven't seen them live, but I don't think they frequent Europe that often. I see that the last time they played in Amsterdam it was with The Heads and Wooden Shjips, that must have been a fudging superb evening.

Recall hearing this for the first time and was stunned (was immediately hooked on 'grunge').

We had The Milk perform at one of our shows in St Albans on Wednesday, well worth catching live.

Here's a video of their cover of the Chemical Brothers 'Galvanise' that they finished their encore with:

Loving - The Tallest Man On Earth

Got this EP and his new album last week, love them both (well all his stuff really). Got tickets to see him in October in Brighton.

I see the singer in Lamb Of GHod has been arrested in Prague on suspicion of manslaughter.
