O/T Capello Resigns / New England Manager Speculation Thread

Not disagreeing with you at all, Rodgers has work miracles (e.g. Swansea vs WBrom no Swans player had a pass completion rate below 80%!) but it would still be a major step-up. But to be clear aside from Benitez I am not going to be one who says we simply need a big name manager, I am just expressing some fears I have if Harry does leave.

Any appointment is a risk, if Harry leaves there is a real and present danger of things going wrong regardless of who comes in.

As ever the glass half full type, there is also a chance of things getting better!

The problem with Rodgers or Lambert is that if we were having this conversation a year ago we would have been talking about Coyle and Martinez. I'd prefer a manager who has a bit more experience, has been through a rough patch and come out the other side.

Its Malcolm X! :D Not very obvious with the size of these things I guess.

And I'm more of an Abu Qatada man myself. ;)

Why have you got m x as your avatar on a spurs forum?! Lol each to their own I guess :)

Qatada. Now give me 5 minutes alone with him. No 2. Actually 5 seconds should be enough to smash his head hard enough against the concrete shouldn't it? Just putting it out there.

For England?

He couldnt handle the spotlight of being Liverpool manager, managing England is 10x worse...

Difference being with England he wouldn't have 'King' Kenny standing behind him at every turn suggesting he could do the job better. He did ok at pool in stemming the decline in the shipwreck final season of Benietz but he was never one of their own and the fans and media were never going to let him settle. He has much greater international experience than anyone else mentioned and I don't think the media has ever fazed him although think he would end up as another gRaham Taylor if things didn't go well.

I don't know, how many of the avatars on this forum are spurs related? There are a fair few that aren't. :D

Sooner we get that prick deported the better. But that is for a different thread.

Here here! Even better he gets spotted by a vigilante group. IMO.

Back on topic I see Brendan Rodgers has ruled himself out of the running for our job if it came up. There's ambition for ya!! Although I'd wish Harry did the same tbf.

I think one of us needs to send Redknapp a memo reminding him that he cannot purchase players when England manager. That SSN won't be waiting on his every word in the transfer window anymore.

Maybe he'll stay then....

I certainly appreciate that, and I was a big fan of Coyles work last year - yet he looks totally lost at the moment.

I should point out the last page or so of conversation has been on the caveat of If we went for an up and coming sort...

One thing I find distinguishes Rodgers is his apparent attention to detail and preparation of teams

I am bit reassured now ive seen todays interview by Harry.

Im sure he'd love to take England to the Euro and carry on his work at Spurs as soon as that is finished.

Is that possible?
