what's wrong with wanting managers with a proven record of achieving their targets in English football?

What were their targets?

I won't even mention moyes at utd but I saw nothing from him at Everton that could suggest he had the ability to make the step up.

Mclaren is an ok manager, like moyes actually, i have them at a similar level, but neither good enough. Haven't got the time to elaborate now but my opinion on moyes has been the same and documented on here since he got the utd job this time last year.

Moyes wasn't at united long enough to do anything, he took Everton from a side fighting relegation every year to one challenging for a CL place

Mclaren has won a league title in holland with a minnow and kept boro punching way above their weight for a long time, he's turned derby completely around in half a season and managed to get one of the worst groups of England players ever on the verge of qualifying for a tournament they had no place being anywhere near

I think they are both safer bets than the likes of FdB or Pochettino

Benitez would be my choice but I fear that may be unrealistic

Hi all New to the forum but my take on the new manager situation and who to and not to go for ;)

of all the names linked thus far my first choice would have been lvg strong technical tactical and takes no **** of of anyone brooks no interference and can turn average players in to great players would sort the club out from top to bottom Me likey a lot but he wants to go to that 8th placed team up in the rain and cold so B**lO** to him

David moyes lets just not , how about if I say please with a cherry on the top Pleeeaaasse just NO thanks =;

pochawotsesname* a bit meh really I don't think he's that bad but on the other hand I don't see what he has done to take a job on this big and at this level great translator and all that would be underwhelmed at best if he was given the job :-k

Waffa benitez good manager experienced does wins things but if I am being honest and I normally am I just cant stand the bloke (FACT) sorry 8-[

What I would like to see is a winner past and present somebody who likes football to be played the spurs way fast flowing risk taking and attacking
Somebody who can set a system up that creates a template for the whole club from top to bottom
A manager that the players have to respect because of he's achievements in the game and who has a proven system that has translated from the top clubs in Europe

Which leads me to the last candidate Frank de boer
This would be my choice of spurs manager won as a player won as a manager came up through the coaching ranks to win an unprecedented 4 titles in a row the last with an Ajax youth squad virtually knows how the game should be played and has learnt he's trade unlike a certain current bloke at spurs from some of the best in the business cruyff van gaal etc. :tumbleweed:

Ok that's it I am done you can all hammer me now thanks for reading ;)

Yeah - pre-contract.

He's just confirmed his departure from Mainz, and I guess someone isn't aware of the second part of the story re Schalke.

Not quite. The Mainz chairman is digging his heals in and playing extreme hardball. Completely insisting Tuchel will either be Mainz manager next season or on gardening leave. I think he will take over at Schalke, but it could be a long and expensive process for Schalke!
