Id be happy to wait till Ancelotti gets fired by Real. I wouldnt mind him. Then again he goes against what I want our next Manager to be i.e. young, not tainted by rivals etc and ultimately someone who will build from the ground up and change the structure or rather - revitalise it.

I've said it before that I'd be happy with Pochettino. His teams press very well and keep the ball extremely well.

Seems to get the best out of players too. Lallana improved significantly under him and he actually have Rodriguez games and turned him into an England international. Based on all of this, he has parts of what people admired about Sherwood (youth a chance), some admired about AVB (possession) and what some liked about LVG (best out of players)

I'd be very underwhelmed if it's Poch. For their respective career achievements, we may as well have left AVB in charge.

That's why I want us to do everything we can to get Benitez. To me, he's a clear level up from AVB and that's what we should be aiming for. Forget improving on Sherwood, we need to aim to get someone better than AVB, or better still, better than 'Arry!

One big nagging doubt for me about Pochettino, and granted this might be unfair, is Laudrup. Both were newbies to the PL, both took over from managers who we're doing good jobs, both got their teams playing attractive football, both got their teams to an incredibly high finish (for them) in their first seasons....and 6 months later Swansea were struggling and Laudrup was sacked. What's next for Poch?

It could go pear shaped but thats a risk with any manager and to be fair its rare a manager lasts for more than a few seasons now at a club no matter how successful

Pochettino has been a lot more impressive than Laudrup has ever been.

I don't think Laudrup ever improved Swansea as a team as the foundations that Martinez and then Rodgers set ran extremely deep. The idea of keeping the ball on the deck and playing it out from the back wasn't something that Laudrup brought into the team, he however was able to bring in new players to augment the philosophy that was already there. Decent buys from the continent like Michu really helped them last season, but the team still played like it did before Rodgers left.

There is a similar case to be made for Pochettino. Adkins had his Southampton team playing a very good passing game, this wasn't something that came out of thin air after a pre season with Pochettino. It's likely that the style was refined by him and improved with the new system, but the players already had the base skills. The difference for me though was the way in which he was able to tighten up their defence. Under Adkins they were prone to defensive slips and conceded too often. When Poch came in he sorted that out in a short space of time, something which ultimately led to their survival last year.

I personally do think Pochettino could do well with our squad, but as I said above, I'm not sure whether or not he would be able to get our team playing to his style as quickly as he did Southampton's. Maybe I'm purposefully being pessimistic just in case but I think it will be harder for us because we haven't had the Adkins/Martinez/Rodgers coach training our team for a couple of seasons already.

Spurs linked with Sinisa Mihaljovic according to Mediaset.

I saw Napoli against Sampdoria and while Samp lost, they played well and were on a good run before that game.
He wasn't very good with the Serbian NT though.

Pochettino is, however, probably our number one target.

Nasty racist. No thanks. Perfect fit at Chelsea mind.

Pochettino would be massively underwhelming and hugely risky. Next season if he stays at Southampton he could quite easily turn into Michael Laudrup.

Absolutely this

Stick with Sherwood. Not exactly fantastic but least it's someone who's had time with our players!

Pochetino could go anywhere.
De Boer could be another AVB.
Moyes - well I never rated him when he was at Everton and his United record didn't say much otherwise to me.

Sticking with Sherwood would mean a stack of transfer requests.
