Can you explain why you'd prefer de Boer to Poch?

DeBoer doesnt play the exact same high pressing 4231 that AVB failed with here. Pochettino does.

Even if that's true, I don't see how it's particularly relevant. 4231 is a stock formation and high pressing is hardly unique, different managers will coach differently and pick different players. Just because one manager can't implement it correctly doesn't mean another won't be able to either.

How about?

Mauricio Pochettino has left Espanyol after a 2-0 defeat by Getafe on Sunday left his side facing the increasing prospect of a relegation battle in Spain's top flight.

The 40-year old was relieved of his duties following a third consecutive loss, and although Pochettino was a favourite with the fans after appearing over 300 times for Periquitos, the club's poor performances made the mind up of club chairman, Joan Collet.

"We have reached an agreement to terminate the contracts of Mauricio Pochettino and the sporting director Roman Planes," he said in a press conference.

"It is not easy but it is the best decision for the club."

Despite the bond between Pochettino and the side's fans, the former defender admitted that it was the correct time to leave the Estadi Cornella-El Prat.

"We made the decision because we believe that it will have a positive effect on the club," he said.

"Because I have spent years here, played here and coached here, my feelings towards the club are very strong. I put all my hope, my strength and my desire into this club.
"I have enjoyed my time here but I have spent many years in the world of football and I know that every coach has an expiration date. I sincerely hope that things will be different because this group of people deserve it."

He concluded: "I want to thank Collet and everyone who worked with me. I also thank the fans, they deserve more than this."

Whereas DeBoer has won 4 league titles in a row at Ajax (the first time any manager has ever done that at the club, and after Ajax had gone 7 years without a title)

So? Does that erase of the job he's doing at Southampton in England in The Barclays Premier League? Plenty of good managers will have "failed" somewhere along the line. Everyone wants Van Gaal yet he had Barca 3rd from bottom and failed to qualify for the 2002 World Cup. You say Poch and AVB are too alike, well personally I see more similarites between AVB and what we're supposed to getting with de Boer, just one had a Europa League medal in his drawer whilst the other doesn't.

I never wanted VanGaal. I dont want Pochettino. I dont want DeBoer.
There is no right obvious gettable candidate for the job.

I'm just showing why DeBoer is a better candidate than Pochettino.

So who do you want?

I would still prefer Poch to de Boer at this moment in time, I don't really care if de Boer racks up 10 titles at Ajax, I'm more impressed by what Poch is doing in this country.

Less than 20 minutes left of the Ajax game. I hope Levy is waiting for FdB outside the home team dressing room.

Not sure it would be much more, something the club should consider .. the feeling around the club right now is just dreadful

I'd say certain agents have been briefed by now…I'd also say that Levy would steadfastly refuse to allow Sherwood an easy way out at this point.

For all the w*** fest on FDB, it is manifestly obvious that our best bet is Benitez.

Which may be why we made such an obvious denial which we would never do if FDB was genuinely our no 1 target

Napoli are supposed to be playing a cup final now, but not sure if it's going ahead after some shootings earlier.

Benitez is who I wanted us to go for after Harry. When we got AVB, I was all for us having this "project" manager and someone who might grow with the club and was willing to give AVB a chance to show what he could do.

But I am fed up of pretenders. If we have any chance of getting a coach who has won multiple league titles in a major, competitive division AND has a champions league win (along with a 2nd appearance in the final) AND who has won multiple other cup competitions, we should do everything we can to make it happen. He would be the highest calibre managerial appointment we have made in a very long time.

This is Spurs though, so we won't do the obvious thing. We'll go for the more unknown quantity, then scratch out heads when it all turns to sh1t.

Rafa, followed by FdB. Would be satisfied if FdB were appointed, but would be gleeful if we managed to land Rafa. Either way, no more Sherwood. Please.

It's funny because it's true

What do the Napoli Ultras think of Benitez?!?! If I was him I wouldn't be too keen on walking away from them if liked!

Its irrelevant - Benitez would never leave Napoli for us. Why not go for Guariola whilst we're at it?
