Gotta agree. It wouldn't be vastly different to when he took over Chelsea. Ready made, winning team, just needed that belief instilling to go the extra yard.

Except for all the billions of pounds he had at his disposal plus an unlimited wage structure!

Don't think he'd come here but would love it if he did. If he comes all those that say they don't want him will quickly change their minds and tell us all how they always wanted him.

Not if they want to get anywhere near FFP...

Now i know the FFP might not work and the clubs might still get into europe, but i'm thinking they would at least take a lot of flack in the media, and no club particularly wants the bad press..

Mourinho is arrogant, and quite rightly so, he is the proverbials.

To manage Spurs, he knows that to take us from title challenging wannabe's into geniune challengers is really only a matter of a few tweaks here and there. We dont need to pay Utd's wage or the flimflam wage's that City does, and were above teams that spend stupid on wages too. Were 3rd and were fuking good to watch and play some great football.

Does he think he can take us that extra yard ? and would he be up to the challenge ? If he goes on his arrogance alone, he would tick all those boxes.

I NEVER EVER WANT MOURINHO TO MANAGE SPURS, EVER! His Madrid team are a disgrace. Pepe is a horrible excuse for a footballer. Their only game plan when it comes to playing Barca is kick Messi and co despite having the second best team and squad in the world. Even Swansea would try and play more football than Madrid do against Barca. Want no part of Mourinho, don't care how good a manager he is.

An alternative view is that Madrid only play like that against Barca, and fortunately for us Barca do not play in our league and as such this would not be a problem. Even Inter or Chelsea under Mourinho were not that dirty

One cannot deny that Madrid play good attacking football and score goals for fun.

could go any way, especially if Real beats Barca to the league title.

the special one is also the unpredictable one. and I don't think he's in it for the money anymore. we stand as good a chance as England, Man U or Chelsea.

He won't be at Real next season. ITK :)

The FFP rules are just window dressing I'm afraid. They won't ever exclude teams like Madrid or Chelsea from the CL. If they did exclude some of the big teams it makes it a less glamorous competition, which would lead to sponsors withdrawing their interest. Lets not be naive here, football is a business just like any other.

Not leaving Madrid out i can understand. There are only really two big big teams in spain and those are real and barca.

But to never exclude a team like Chelsea? When the probable team that would enter the Champions League because Chelsea were denied entrance would be Liverpool or Arsenal (if we stay top 4, which may or may not occur)?

I can't honestly say that Chelsea are a bigger club than Arsenal or Liverpool.

The sponsors would hardly lose out at all. Though i must accept that this may not be the case in other leagues...

i can just see Mourinho walking into Spurs with deals for Drogba (free), Adebayor (10 mill plus big signing on fee) and maybe a Hazard or Afellay all lined up to join him

add them to what we have and he would think he has a serious shot at winning the PL with Spurs

for 2 or 3 years he can have a go at winning silverware here and by the time those years are over im sure the Old Trafford hot seat will finally become vacant and then Jose can ride off into the sunset and take over there

not so outlandish is it

For Mourinho to actually get on par with the likes of Fergie or even Arsene to a certain extent he will need to do some work with a club like Spurs and be successful. A club with limited resources and a club on the way up but not reached the peaks yet.

He is a mercenary and I don't want him to manage Tottenham. Not that there is any chance of that whatsoever.

I'm not convinced about the whole "boring Jose" notion. Chelsea still played a possesion game, they werent long ball merchants, so I dont think our style would change that drastically. And anyway, who says that it would be all down to the manager anyway? We're playing Barcelona-esqe football at the moment, not nearly as good as them but we're trying the same thing. Keep the ball, use the flanks, lots of attacking options. Is this because of Harry Redknapp? Were Bournemouth, West Ham, Pompey all as flambouyant as us? No. We play the way we do because of the players we have.... from Luka to Benny, ball players all of them (and why poor old Dawes is looking more and more out of place). Mourinho builds his own teams sure, but he does look carefully at the foundations there and will work with what he can.

He'd start the season with a talented but generally grounded squad, with the licence to make two or three marquee signings, and a reasonable shot at the Champions League
Worst case scenario with Jose? Modric, Bale, Parker unsettled, they leave, we finish 6th at worst. Expensive sacking.
Best case scenario? Current and future stars beg to play for The Special One, marquee signings of the highest calibre, Jose stays for 30 years to be our Sir Alex Ferguson with the trophies (and our Wenger with the stadium). Retires with more CLs than Madrid.

Most likely scenario? The football won't change overnight, Luka/Parker/VDV would be allowed to play the way they like. Bale and Lennon become the new Duff and Robben, by the end of next season we're kicking on from this year still. If Jose sticks with us for at least three seasons then we could well bag one of the big ones.

This man could arrive at White Hart Lane having won the Champions League with a third different club in under 10 years.
I don't know what the bigger joke would be (a) any Spurs fan rejecting a man with this record or (b) him choosing Spurs in the first place.

He is a mercenary and I don't want him to manage Tottenham. Not that there is any chance of that whatsoever.

Only a tiny percentage of managers and players aren't mercenaries.

So we might as well get the very best mercenaries.
