Poll: Would you want Mourinho managing Spurs?

8-[Simple vote

Yes - He's a winner!! Oh and he'd make Arsene finally top himself
No - don't like his football and the way he carries himself; Short-termist that leaves teams in a mess after he's gone

Personally I think when it comes to it, I might be in the 'No' category....8-[

I don't think Levy would allow him to make signings that would end in this scenario.

He is a proven winner, ergo yes, yes and yes again.

Yes, anyone who wants otherwise is foolish. We have the base for Mourinho, and he wins everywhere he goes. He's a huge name that will bring in more talent. If you think hiring an English manager to replace Harry is going to attract Hazard, etc, then we're fudged.

If he's offered the Chelsea job, then he would take it again. He's got a built in excuse for going there as they are not quite the force they once were, he has the opportunity to build them up again.

I'm not convinced about the whole "boring Jose" notion. Chelsea still played a possesion game, they werent long ball merchants, so I dont think our style would change that drastically. And anyway, who says that it would be all down to the manager anyway? We're playing Barcelona-esqe football at the moment, not nearly as good as them but we're trying the same thing. Keep the ball, use the flanks, lots of attacking options. Is this because of Harry Redknapp? Were Bournemouth, West Ham, Pompey all as flambouyant as us? No. We play the way we do because of the players we have.... from Luka to Benny, ball players all of them (and why poor old Dawes is looking more and more out of place). Mourinho builds his own teams sure, but he does look carefully at the foundations there and will work with what he can.

He'd start the season with a talented but generally grounded squad, with the licence to make two or three marquee signings, and a reasonable shot at the Champions League
Worst case scenario with Jose? Modric, Bale, Parker unsettled, they leave, we finish 6th at worst. Expensive sacking.
Best case scenario? Current and future stars beg to play for The Special One, marquee signings of the highest calibre, Jose stays for 30 years to be our Sir Alex Ferguson with the trophies (and our Wenger with the stadium). Retires with more CLs than Madrid.

Most likely scenario? The football won't change overnight, Luka/Parker/VDV would be allowed to play the way they like. Bale and Lennon become the new Duff and Robben, by the end of next season we're kicking on from this year still. If Jose sticks with us for at least three seasons then we could well bag one of the big ones.

This man could arrive at White Hart Lane having won the Champions League with a third different club in under 10 years.
I don't know what the bigger joke would be (a) any Spurs fan rejecting a man with this record or (b) him choosing Spurs in the first place.

Quality post. Agree with it all sir

I have changed my mind and decided to vote yes, but under 2 conditions:

1. We don't play the UFC anti football that his Madrid side play against Barca
2. He doesn't bring Pepe with him or make any attempt to sign him, even on a free!

I hate his teams style of play on certain occasions, but I accept that he is the best manager available and would make Spurs better which is ultimately all it comes down to.

Mourinho has conquered what 4 countries now? If he wins it with Real of course. Fergie has done it for a longer time span. May divide many but I know who I'd have in a heartbeat.

Only because of his age, that's the only thing Mourinho has on Fergie who has done it for so long now it's ridiculous! His hunger and desire is incredible. And he hasn't relied on money to win things although I accept that he has also spent his fair share on players.

Since 1992 he has never been short of money. I've heard several players slag Fergie off but never Mourinho. He commands total respect and gets what he wants and would be legendary with us.

Mourinho may have won the league but twice, but Fergie got the best of him in the end despite spending nowhere near as much as Mourinho did.

THIS. He has the right attitude. Imagine what he could with our current squad if Harry went

You, Sir, are not the only person close to the Lane who has had that thought...Crawley knows!!!!!! ;)
I would love to see this squad given the mental strength and final tactical acumen to achieve what they could...

A few things are pretty certain for me on the Mourinho side of things:
1) He will leave this summer
2) His next destination is England
3) He will want to go to a team with title potential

I also think Spurs would be high up his list of preferred destinations because:
1) We will (hopefully) have come 3rd or 4th.
2) We could theoretically shell out a huge wage for him. Unlike with the players, I think a manager, especially Mourinho, could be someone exempt from our wage structure.
3) He would inherit a very good squad, with lots of young and potentially world class players.
4) He would certainly get a decent transfer budget.

In terms of competition, I think anyone who finishes outside the top 4 is immediately out of the question, and if Chelsea or Arsenal come 4th/3rd (as long as we occupy the other place) I think we would be the better option in terms for squad. Emirates Marketing Project and Man Utd are obviously a bit better than us.

We are the team most likely to have a managerial vacancy in the summer as well, with no guarantees that ?ú14m Villas-Boas who came and said he was there to build a team, Mancini who has had a lot of faith put in him by his owners, which he is now repaying, and Wenger who seemingly can live off his past glories forever, will be sacked/resign, while the same can be said of Fergie's retirement, first mooted about 10 years ago now!

Mourinho is undoubtedly the best manager in the world for me. Ferguson has had a better career, but in terms of managerial ability, nothing shows it more than winning the league in 3 different countries, which are arguably the 3 biggest leagues in the world and have 3 completely different styles of football, all in the space of 6(?) years. We should do anything to get him in if he is even slightly interested. He is the complete manager, he would have the media in the palm of his hand, is a dogged tactician, a wonderful man-manager, a tireless worker and a tactical genius. Plus anyone who says his Madrid team are horrible/play brick football are completely clueless and have clearly only seen the clasicos, they are fvcking magnificent, and play in a style that would certainly suit us.

While it is steal a semi-realistic possibility, I am gonna dream about it. For all we know Spurs could have finished 6th by the time he leaves Madrid!

Great post Pandy but he is too arrogant for some ppl. Yeah I know let me know if you understand that one!

JOSE MOURINHO last night insisted he has not agreed any deal to return to the Premier League ÔÇö yet.

Back for Mour? Jose house hunt

JOSE MOURINHO is back in London looking for a house - fuelling talk of a Chelsea return

The Special One, pictured in Chelsea on Tuesday by SunSport, did confirm he is buying a new family home in the capital.
But he stressed that does not definitely mean he is coming back to manage a LONDON club.
A source close to Real Madrid boss Mourinho revealed: "Jose says he will wait to see what happens in England in the next few months.
"Will Harry Redknapp leave Tottenham for the England job? Will Roberto Mancini go if Emirates Marketing Project don't win the title? Will Andre Villas-Boas survive at Chelsea?
"They are three big jobs that would all appeal to Jose."
SunSport revealed last month that Mourinho, who earns ?ú12.5million a season, is set to quit runaway La Liga leaders Real in the summer.
His confidant added: "He's going to wait and see what happens then make his mind up at the end of the season.
"The only thing that is certain is he will be leaving Real in the summer for sure and coming back to England for sure.
"He really misses England ÔÇö it was the most fun time of his career.
"So it's not about money. He's looking for a new project, a new challenge."

A new project would not be Chelsea would it!
