Moussa Sissoko

I think by the end of the season we will know.

If when everyone is fit Sissoko is picked above them, then fair enough.

If, when everyone is fit, we hardly see him - then you will know.

My bet, assuming we ever get people properly fit (a big assumption looking at the season so far) is the latter, with Sissoko moving on this summer.
I dont think that will ever happen, but with Poch who requires such levels of fitness someone like him who lets be fair has a fantastic engine and can be relied upon to be fit week in week out and in Pochs eyes does offer things on the pitch that allows the team to transition, I think he would consider him a good squad player to have.

Im not convinced he'd be sold, most were sure all last summer he would be - I think the only way he would be sold if we was offered practically all of the money we paid for him - I dont think Poch views him enough of a dud to sell on the cheap....

I think he was impossible to sell last season. This summer, less so. He has played a lot, someone will be interested.

I think the second better is available Sissoko is gone. All that statement above said to me is that while everyone is out Sissoko has done a job. I think we will strengthen, and I think improving on Sissoko isnt hard.

Youre right, he would probably be easier to sell this season. The interesting thing is him saying Sissoko is the ONLY person that can give such balance to the team, that doesnt sound like a player who is only there because of injuries. I honestly think, rightly or wrongly that Poch simply sees things on the pitch from him that you and others dont. Im pretty confident Poch analyses performance of the team and individuals in a completely different way to us.....

Hmm! Bizarre. Maybe Poch is just trying to bolster the confidence of Sissoko, to get him back to his best, playing naturally rather than fearfully?

That, or he's just leaving some quotes to the media on how much he loves him, so that when scouts from other clubs are looking for players, and gets a whiff of Sissoko (for whatever reason), and googles him, see that he's highly rated by Poch, and will consequently have to bid more for him. :p One can dream!

That isnt the quote, the actual quote infers a different meaning, IMO

He is right now the only player that can give that.

Seeing the usual suspects splutter and cough, trying not to choke on the humble pie rammed down their throats by none other that Poch himself;
recognising that all their derogatory comments about a player who clearly was trying to give his best for the club, and their snide remarks at posters who rallied against Sissoko's ridiculous spacegoating, had come back to bite them in the arse; and
realising that all their self-righteous convoluted reasons, to explain why one of the best coaches on the planet continued to play the player they derided as a waste of space, had gone up in smoke in an instant....

PRICELESS!!

There are some things money can't buy.... for all the rest there's Mastercard. :D

Please can you cut out the "usual suspects" crap. If you want to disagree with someone, that is fine, name them and respond to something they have said. Sweeping, generalised attacks are just divisive and do nothing for the discussion.

Your thesis breaks down because there was one fundamental point of difference. Tainio could trap a ball and make a decent pass, Sissoko cannot.

Ehhhhh, I don’t really want to get into the ‘Sissoko can’t play a pass’ stuff again, because it’s clearly nonsense.

Or Poch might have worked out that publicly ridiculing a £30m asset might have some effect on both that asset's short term usefulness and medium term value.

I'm glad Poch defends Sissoko publicly, that's his job. Giving an honest representation of his time with us would be very expensive.

Playing a player you dont rate is even more expensive, and theres defending a player - his comments went beyond that. But of course it can be spun into him just saying it so can get more money for him, just like start of this season he was only playing so can put him in shop window:D Prizes for what next excuse will be?

Yeah I guess, you could manipulate it either way really. Guess we shall see what happens in the summer, and how keen Poch is to get rid.....

I dont think its manipulation at all, I think it is the key part of the quote.

He is saying, as I read it, Sissoko is essential/doing an essential job in the absence of other players.

Poch himself said we were trying to sell Sissoko in the summer but nobody wanted him. I'd be very surprsed if we weren't trying to do so again this summer.

Which might be true, which might be a way of boosting Sissoko’s confidence, which might be a way of telling the media to fcuk off, which might be a way of telling Levy we need someone better to do that job.
