Mikey Moore

He became England’s top goal scorer. Not greatest ever forward.
No one gets close though really, unless you bring in pre-war randomers. Lineker, Hurst, Greaves? Kane is beyond them, esp as he's done it over 4 or 5 tournaments, whereas the others were 1 or 2

Bobby charlton was a forward. Dixie dean. Greaves. Lineker. Eras before europe split up into smaller countries and only had 16 teams qualify for a tournament.

Charlton was a midfielder. Dean only got 16 caps. Greaves only ever played 7 tournament games (4 in 1962, 3 in 1966). Lineker had two very good world cups (but a poor Euro 88) and is probably a closest there is to Kane.

When you say england you mean just the team then. Not the country? When you say best ever you mean stats not ability?

Bobby Charlton was the complete forward, played left wing, centreforward and inside forward, when Ramsey changed game he still played as an inside forward but it was called midfield bit like the silly numbers game now.

So if England was a club, the best forward in their history, as determined by a measure of quality x volume. That's now Kane IMO.

Quite strong statements from Ange on Moore after the game today. Normal operating procedure would be to not put any more pressure on a player that young, but I guess Moore is beyond that, but also perhaps says something about how he's rated for the start of the season and what his involvement will be.

What was the statement?
