Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Who
But you just said he was a "short term manager"? So are you giving him three years? And Klopp did one thing very very well; he united the club whilst moving on the dross. I never heard him coat the likes of Moreno or Sturridge hard in public. Different class.

Sorry I’ve just seen what your referring too
That was a comment about Ancelotti
He is a short term manager
He averages less than 2 years in his last 5 appointments

Indeed, and apologies again for not picking that up.
You don’t have to apologise
This isn’t a witch hunt
I wanted ancelotti
But then I heard a few podcasts saying he is notorious for short term effect and then falling out with owners. It was Nicky Baldini who has a lot to say about him

FWIW I think Levy would have seen the the faltering upward trajectory of Jose career but he had a gaping hole to fill when a much loved manager left. Jose being out of work was free to approach and free to get in. He's still a highly respected manager (rightly so) and with his refreshed recharged batteries demeanor....I'm sure Levy felt good about the appointment.

I think Levy is bound to stick with Jose for two reasons. 1. It will be expensive to pay him off 2. Jose is a massive name and respected and persuasive manager, when you have no European football, that charm and pull will be massive to get players to stay and also attract new players if we can muster some wheeling and dealing in the transfer market.

Also, the simple fact that he is with us keeps us front and centre in the media.

The Mendes thing works both ways too, will help moving players on if he can take a slice from both ends of the cake.

I’m not quite in the ‘Jose out’ crew yet but I still pose one question that I posed at his appointment that remains pretty much unanswered.

Do the ‘Jose in’ in crowd expect him to whizz the squad round to form with the a few outs and a few cheap ins? Something I don’t think I’ve seen from him in his career (admittedly he’s pretty much always had money so not many examples of operating on a shoe string).

Or is there another plan that I don’t see?

I’m still not sure of the logic/strategy behind the appointment from a long term perspective.
