Harry Kane MBE

In January he'll only have 6 months on his QPR deal. Sign him for bout £8m and we could easily make that back in a year/18 months.

Do you honestly think Daniel Levy will offer £8m for a player who has six months left on his contract? Besides if Poch was interested in him we would would have made a bid last summer.

Boom, shake the room.

The only worries I have with him are a) the potential for him to have a career-crippling injury, and b) his growing tendency to go for goal in a 'head-down' fashion, a la Defoe.

8 in 5 for Kane now.
And compared to last year:
22/11/14 Kane had 10 goals in all competitions
22/11/15 Kane has 9 goals in all competitions

I still struggle occasionally to process whats happened with Kane.

I was utterly convinced the guy was a mere place holder striker, a youth product given runs out in the hope he attracted a decent bid, destined for a few seasons in the lower reaches of the prem before being relegated with his new team followed by a largely uneventful career in the upper reaches of the championship with the odd promotional season back in the prem.

Yet after last season no Spurs fan doubted he would be banging them in this one, even after a dodgy start to the season. deserves every single plaudit he's getting.

Just incredible really, and i think my appreciation will always be tinged ever so slightly with a bit of guilt! :)

Does make me think a bit about Caulker and if we maybe should have hung onto him for another couple of seasons.

Kane was always highly rated by his coaches as a youngster for his vision, where as Caulker I think stood out more for his physique and pace. It was never so much the positioning and reading of the game with him. Though he excelled at a young age in the lower leagues showed he would have a decent career.

I always like caulker but from rumours I heard @milo would tell you but the was talk he was a bad influence behind the scenes.

How much is Poch the key variable? He consistently takes talented players and brings them on. Caulker may have benefited too, but that ship has long sailed. Yes Kane was played under Sherwood, but Poch made him believe.

Caulker for me was really overated and has been relegated twice since we sold him. He is on loan to Southampton but has only played one game ( not sure if he is injured?)

Not very mobile an poor reading of the game

Looked better because of his phycial presence

I'm actually not too sure that we can credit our manager TOO much with this one. Kane was already looking good in the Spurs team under Sherwood at the end of the 13/14 season. He has continued to improve and I think our manager has helped to give him confidence, but it was already clear that he was going to become a very good player (and the coaches at Spurs always knew this right back from Redknapp's time at the club).

I thought Caulker was going to be the next King :(

@OptaJoe: 140 – Harry Kane has run further than any other Premier League forward this season (140 KM). Tireless.

@OptaJoe: 41 - Harry Kane has also started each of Tottenham's last 41 Premier League games, the best current run by a PL forward. Available.

@SkySportsNewsHQ: Kane has also scored more @premierleague goals than any other player in 2015. #SSNHQ https://t.co/04kF1cwUpQ

I am still getting absolutely crucified in work because back when he started to score a few goals in the Europa someone asked me what he was like and I said 'yeh, he's alright, I'd say he'll probably end up at a mid table team or the likes'. Of course this has now been translated into 'You thought Harry Kane was brick' and every time he scores I get hammered.

No one thought he would do what he has done other than probably Kane himself and a few coaches imo

Certainly no fans I know expected him to become what now looks like being a borderline world class striker (he isn't there yet but is getting there)

I still have mates who are not convinced he will make it... And there season ticket holders!!! I regularly remind them that this is no fluke now surely
