Harry Kane MBE

Agree about luck but he would have taken an extra touch imo as he did vs stoke earlier in the season. His confidence is back because he is scoring and thats why he didn't take the touch which made it easier for him to do his job

Would be intriguing to see video evidence. IIRC, during his barren spell he was also criticised for snatching at chances instead of steadying himself or passing to someone supposedly better placed.

Interesting. If you watch his goal yesterday you'll see he also took his time (opened his body as Henry said) and looked up to check the position of Alli etc before striking the ball. Which begs the question why then did he not also fluff his shot this time? Looking up and momentarily hesitating didn't make a blind bit of difference to the outcome yesterday- did it.

Of course you always have to respect the opinion of an untouchable expert such as Henry but I still wonder whether people are simply superimposing their own pet theories to fit the circumstances. Only Kane can really know what was going on in his own mind at that moment. I remember watching Henry's analysis on Sky at the time (no longer available, it says) and concluding exactly the same then.

It wasn't the look that was the issue eve everton, it was the extra touch after the look

This time he didn't take that touch and it was a masterful finish that any strike would be proud of

Any analysis of Harry's game when he wasn't scoring would at least have some validity on the surface if not for the fact that he was actually put the ball in the net quite regularly, but unfortunately in an offside position every time he did score and onside most of the times when he didn't.

Even the best of them sometimes miss easy chances.

fudge me, Kane played the full 90' against Spain and 80' against France. Give the guy a rest, Woy. It's a friggin' friendly!

This. He will get burnt out in the New Year if we don't rest him a bit. We really need Son and NJie to quickly become strong alternatives.

And/or buy cover ... We need another striker in January, I really hope Poch/Levy don't risk the season

I think Austin could possibly be on the cards - will be cheap and easy to move on at a profit in a season or two if we decide he's not quite the fit we want

Possibly, and I wouldn't be opposed to it. But does he have the work-rate for our system?
