Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Bale is turning out to be a big-match player for us. He has scored against almost all the big teams we have played in recent years : Arsenal, Chelsea, ManCity, ManU, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Inter Milan. Only Liverpool is still missing from his collection of goals. But he is still inconsistent. If he can perform for us consistently, he will be a great player for us.

Re: Gareth Bale

Madrid and Barca WILL fight for his signature this summer, and IMHO it will take a miracle for the deal not to happen.
Bale is far from the finished article. He has been criticised for his performances here. I think we will get this year and at least next year out of him. If we are winning stuff my dream is he can be our Maldini. If not he will be up the road.

Err...where....exactly...:mickey:

Re: Gareth Bale

I understand he spends a lot of time back in Wales so IMO if we do lose him he won't go abroad. But also IMO I think he may never leave Spurs.

he has spoken about his desire to play abroad a few times. don't see levy selling him to any team "up the road" unless it's for ridiculous money as there's plenty overseas who'll want him if Bale wants out

Re: Gareth Bale

No he hasn't. Read what he actually said.

"I've seen the best. I've seen Ronaldo; I've seen them all. He's on a par with them now. The only difference is they play for Barcelona with players like Messi. He's at Tottenham. Let me tell you, he will be at one of those clubs before too long. Those top teams - Barcelona and Real Madrid - will be fighting for his signature, for sure."

GloryGeeze asked twice and I'm curious as well. Where exactly is up the road fella?

Thank you. Onlyme: any chance that you could explain CLEARLY FOR ALL READERS as to what you meant by Bale ending "up the road"?

Re: Gareth Bale

You could have said that when GG asked you then. Your use of the phrase up the road looked like a literal use meaning you thought he was going somewhere local.

I have to disagree with you though, always given the impression that he wants to experience the challenge of adapting to a new culture new league new climate etc etc don't think him visiting Wales will put him off that desire. And I also don't think Manchester will satisfy that desire.

Re: Gareth Bale

He will end up in Spain.

As for his performances/abilities, I have said (to some criticism I might add) for a while that he is learning a lot under AVB who is coaching him to be that world class player. There is a fascinating interview with Torres today which basically outlines what AVB does with the star men who have previously been left to do what their talents tell them regardless of team shape or structure. It's very informative. I have already noticed the difference in Bale's game this season despite being repeatedly told it wasn't happening and that he is, in fact, playing the same as last year.

I know i've seen posts you've done on this in other threads, but for simplicity of the flow of this thread - and for others to agree, comment agin etc - could you recount here a list of the differences you have noticed.

Cheers
