Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

It would give us a massive lift if he starts at Palace. It might help galvanize the team - which was built around him last season. If he goes, which lets be honest is likely , it will be a 'transitional year'. Too many new players to integrate and not enough consistency. If you add in the long term injured coming back, as well as loanees being incorporated, half of the team is new.

Re: Gareth Bale

Sign him up and stick him in a booth outside WHL where passers by can pay £100 to smack him over the head with one of those inflatable mallet things.

Would be like printing money. Could probably sign Messi a year from now.

Inflatable mallet things? Oh you are too kind, I had something weightier in mind

Re: Gareth Bale

Sorry but I disagree. It may not mean anything in monetary terms i agree, but it is the intent of what the player wants and how they express it. bale is only holding back on not going public to protect his image/commercial interests. He wants to remain being seen as the clean cut/blue eyed boy/butter wouldn't mealt in his mouth/please fudge my daughter type. He is money driven as indicated by his 'hearts' copyright/intellectual protection. He is no innocent!!

Since you seemingly know him could you please let him know that at least quite a few Spurs fans don't care as long as he delivers on the pitch?

Cheers.

not gonna start vs Palace according to AVB.....he said he doesn't want to 'extend himself'

whenever he says that and its quite a lot I worry that he thinks he is Mr Gadget.

Re: Gareth Bale

SORRY PEOPLE I WORDED THAT WRONG

'extend myself' was a comment from AVB after the match not Bale.

as in

Bale will not play vs Palace due to foot injury - info passed to Welsh Medical team - he is injured I don't want to fuel speculation - I don't want to extend myself.

No mate, I don't know him. I'm just making a summation based on what he has not done so far. He could quite easily say he is staying with us, or that he would like to go to Real Madrid. we would then know where he stands. If you want to blindly follow him, fine so long as he 'delivers on the pitch and we dont care', all well and good. I prefer to give the thumbs up to a player who really gives a brick about th eclub I support. Not one that just wants toincrease their own bank balance. HehI may be wrong and he has been playing Madrid all this time, but I have a feeling he has been playing fools like you.

If he's been playing me or fools like me then he's surely the bigger fool as I and fools like me have no say in his future. The people he needs to play if he wants to be machiavellian are Levy, Baldini, AVB and the board. And I feel quite confident that they are not easily fooled.

Your summation is based on assumptions, not his actions or the lack thereof. The fact is we don't know what has been going on behind the scenes. What we do know is that he hasn't been acting up publicly the same way Berbatov, Modric, Suarez, Tevez and a bunch of other footballers have. Go ahead and assume that's because he's scheming and just as much of a dingdonghead as them if that's what you want, but it's still just your interpretation based on assumptions.

Oh, and I do not blindly follow anyone.

Edit: If you want to call me mate, that's cool. If you want to call me a fool I won't deny it. But please don't use both in the same paragraph if you don't mind.

The only fools are those who think they know whats really going on, when all they are doing is making assumptions on what is happening.

Go have a look in the mirror.

Fair enough Mr Braineclipse. It was my assumption and only my assumption, but an assumption that nontheless I am entitled to voice an opinion on without being subject to sarcasm. I was wrong to call you a fool and for that I apologise,it was uncalled for. I was responding to what i took as an unjustified sarcastic reply to my post, as obviously I do not know Mr Bale. :-#

I havn't said I know what is going on. This is a forum for voicing opinions? I am quite content to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. I am sure your remark is applicable to all posters on this site ......including you perhaps?

No worries :)

When someone makes what I consider an unjustly harsh criticism of a Spurs player on a Spurs forum based on assumptions, but presented as a fact it seems to make me rather sarcastic. I don't think that will stop anytime soon, but for what it's worth I didn't mean anything personal by it nor did I in any way mean to say that you're not entitled to voice your opinion mate.

Calling people fools because they disagree with your opinion ( which is guesswork at best) is foolish in itself.

I think the sooner the transfer window closes the better it will be for mankind.

Re: Gareth Bale

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes that Gareth Bale has outgrown the club.

The winger has been linked with a move to Real Madrid throughout the summer, and Redknapp thinks it is time for him to move on.

He insists that the difference in Bale's personality over the past few years is evident.

"I don't mean it in a bad way, but Gareth wasn't the liveliest character," said Redknapp.

"I'd take my son into the dressing room and he would say hello to him. He was very quiet, not a big personality. He came alive on the pitch.

"But now he feels he is ready to move. I have spoken to players at Tottenham. He has outgrown the club. His body language is different."

Re: Gareth Bale

We'll know for sure what is happening this week. If his "foot" injury is OK for Wales, but then flares up again to prevent him playing against Palace then that will speak volumes. I wouldn't be too shocked if Bale was to come off "injured" in the last minute of Wales game either.

Need to keep him at the club for this season at least. With the players we have brought in, plus him we are potentially on for our biggest season since the 80's. I already really like the look of Soldado and even if it's just him that comes good from all our signings this window then that will be enough if Bale stays as well.

I missed most of the game..from whats been said...Lennon was poor.
Does anyone think he is past his best...we do need to be fireing on all cylanders..
is the right flank a problem?.part of the jigsaw gone missing..
we need all options to attack and if Bale doesnt play or is transferred our
options are not so good. No creativety in the midfield..allbeit admitted its early days
with this team.
