Eric Dier

How many attacks did they have?
Not much. What was there to stop he effectively stopped. Composed, controlled, all you can ask for in a situation like that.

I can't have been the only one with lingering "oh we could very well fudge this up" feelings even at 2-0 and the red card.

Up until the Kane goal they put us under quite a bit of pressure. We dealt with it rather well. Dier was a solid part of that.

I thought the was no pressure, they had a bit of the ball but no pressure. If I see Dier go matches against big sides without brain farts I will change my mind on him.

First he should have a long hard look at the way he turned to make himself smaller for the shot from Ward Prowse.

Then have a good look at the way KWP blocked the shot from Davies.

Finally decide what kind of defender he wants to be.

Bit harsh, KWP was straight at him and he had longer to think.

He did the same in the last game as well. It's fair to question whether the lapses are coming back. We'll see over the next few matches.
You mean the West Ham game or the palace game?
He did make a mistake vs West Ham and it cost us a goal (although we had a chance to defend it better). He didn’t form what I remember I remember vs palace

You mean the header KWP made and then pretended he was shot in the head?
Or the one they claimed a penalty for when Dier kept his arms down and blocked the ball?

When Davies blasted it into KWP's head. That hurts a lot, your brain gets rocked back inside your skull like in a boxing match.
And when Ward Prowse shot and scored, Dier turned sideways and flinched rather than standing square on to make himself a big target.

And both blocked the ball form going in or wide, so?!?!

Sorry the West Ham game, when Lloris had then come flying out to stop Bowen (I think) in a 1on1. Dier totally misjudged the ball and let it bounce over his head to the West Ham player. A bit slack, it happens but he has a history of it happening too often. Hopefully just a couple of lapses and not a return to Dierabolical. [emoji28]
