Davinson Sanchez

We didn't have the right coaches for him either. He arrived young and with strong potential. Feels like he went backwards and worth a fraction of what we paid thought hitting his prime years.

Will be interesting to understand how he wasn't sold, I mean any player can always be bought or sold at the right price.

I do not blame Sanchez for being a limited footballer, rather I blame the club for failing to be brave and failing to sell him at a loss, or coming to a financial agreement with him and ripping up his contract. Sanchez tries his best but he simply is not good enough.

Can see where you're coming from but was it brave of the club to let Doherty, Aurier and Dele go for an effective sum total of 0m? And there's a defence that these players were acquired cheaply so it was a reasonable fee for their services but for Sanchez it's a different ball game entirely.

You can't lose a player on a free that is the 1st called upon when there's an injury so it would have taken another replacement signing like how Porro came in for Doc. It's a shame for everyone that he (allegedly) turned down a move away, Lloris may describe him as someone who has fought for the club for years but realistically he has just held us back.

Horrible what happened to Sanchez; we've seen it before at other clubs that turned toxic...Eboue at Arsenal for example.
If it happens again in anyn of our remaining home games you can bet it will likely be Dier who gets the abuse that is mainly a reflection of pent-up frustration with the owners and their choices over the last few years

Hopefully he will be dropped completely from the next match day squad.

If Lenglet and Davies are out we should start Paskotsi who is a left sided centre back and full international.

In fact this guy should always be ahead of both Sanchez and Tanganga.

He plays right when I’ve seen him play
But I agree
I can’t understand why he hasn’t been given a sniff of a chance where we persevere with players who are allergic to a football

I think Sanchez will be on the Bench for the next game. I hope he is and I hope the true fans give he a cheer and a round of applause when his name is called out.
The guy didn't deserve the bullying and abuse he received on Saturday...it was disgusting.

A heartwarming gesture like that could even fire up the rest of the team to see we are all behind each other.

Why should a player of such poor quality be involved in the match day squad?

We are not a creche we are supposed to be a football club striving to win

The way to get rid of unwanted players is to sit them down and tell them and their agent that they won’t be getting a squad number next season. There are actually only a very small number of Winston Bogarde type players that would just sit out football completely. Our problem is that we try to sell them but don’t make it clear that the alternative is no squad place at all which makes it easier for them to sit tight.
It was reported that we told the likes of Winks that they wouldn't be in the squad. With Sanchez he was needed as cover.

Luckily I never went of Saturday as I would have probably been as annoyed at the action of the braindead "fans" as they were with Sanchez. "Fan" expectation and entitlement has grown over the last decade and the behaviour has declined. No player performs badly on purpose, some may not try as hard we wish but there is no way booing a player will improve their performance. Social media let's the extreme views get a wide audience and the simple minded take it all on board and let their frustration out at the matches.

Every week I read on here this or that player aren't good enough and need an upgrade, there must be 5 or 6 and when you add the 6 to 7 players out on loan. We should be able to see that the club need a massive reboot and we are in for a period out of contention top table places whoever we get as manager, unfortunately many think getting ENIC out and new owners will change this in 5 to 6 months, good luck.

Season cant finish quick enough for me and hopefully the dissatisfied "fans" will disappear until the good times return.

Sanchez was made rcb cover for the last 2 years, however his continued regression into the lower half championship/serie b defender he now is should have resulted in his expulsion from the first team squad in January latest, with one of the promising young defenders promoted in his place.

Separately as soon as one of Davies or Lenglet is out it should result in Paskotsi being promoted to the match day squad.

We were all at sea at the back when Lenglet went off at the weekend and that could have been prevented if Paskotsi a left footed centre back was brought on in his place instead of Sanchez.

So you want to play a 20 year old that has played one game in the Europa Conference League and nothing else. Would the fact that he has not featured in anything else and barely on the bench not suggest he isn't ready? You'd really want him coming into the current brick show that is our defence and put up with a fan base that will boo him after his first mistake? Personally I'd rather ease him in properly when he is ready.

I have little faith in what our so called management decide, for what I’m sure is fairly obvious reasons.

This isn’t a 17 year old rookie, he is 20 years old and a full international and crucially he can play what is a specialist position as the left sided centre back in a 3 man defence.

If your argument is ‘he isn’t playing so that means he isn’t ready’ that is one that endorses a failed management group who are making these so called sound judgements.

So yes if the choice is a 20 year old left sided centre back full international who has been outstanding recently and can fulfil a crucial role for us or a diabolical serie b level right footed clown who often struggles to control the ball and does flying rolly polly’s during games… well I know what I would go for.

Agree about a period of reboot. I would welcome the lower expectations.

We spent a lot of money on dross the last few years to keep us at the top, it has not worked.

He's a 20 year old rookie. A full international means nothing, he's Estonian, it's not exactly a top international team with a lot of competition for his place.
Outstanding recently?? He hasn't played any proper games recently unless you mean underage games and that is a long way off being ready for a premier league game with a team that is under pressure and constantly being booed by idiots.

I don't know if he's ready, but I'll leave it to those that see him every day to make that judgement and not yours.

Back in August, many were singing his praises for the way he stepped up to replace Romero at the end of last season and the beginning of this. I'm not a big fan of his by any means, but the level of disrespect shown to him -- in the stadium on Saturday and in some posts in this thread -- is out of order.
We all know he's not good enough, but it's either you are totally crap and should never kick a ball again or you're the greatest player ever, no middle ground or balance in views just extremes.

Lower championship/serie b is not total crap and is not should never kick a ball again.

When do you think an impressive 20 year old full international left footed centre back will be ready, especially when those ahead of him on the bench are poor players that cause chaos in our back line if our two first team left sided centre backs are out?

Explain to me what is so impressive about him? What has he done to show he is ready? As I previously said, I don't know if he's ready, I don't see enough of him, I'll leave it to those that do see him everyday to make the judgement.
