There are some. I honestly think many are overrated or at least there isn't a proper understanding of how and why they perform for thier clubs, their performances are due to the systems they already fit in to and the foreign players they are around. There aren't many base level facilitators and more finishers of moves. The lack of an English midfield controller is glaring, but then it always is. England just seems incapable of developing that profile of player.

On the topic of Gallagher I think he's just rather basic, a bit of a terrier but no real quality on the ball. He's less technically proficient than Bentancur and Sarr. He's also almost certainly less so than Bergvall also so I do wonder what the appeal is? It feels like he's a decent player and adds a bit energy to the squad but more importantly he's HG. I do think if we didn't have this HG issue we probably wouldn't be looking so intently at him. also likely less so than

Gallagher isn't the most gifted technical player in the world, but what he does is provide energy and 100% effort, something we have lacked at times. We will need numbers in midfield, and if signed, he'll be another option in there, and offer something different to what we have, especially if Højbjerg is off.

You wouldn't sign any English player other than Guehi going off the Euros performances
I typically wouldn't really sign English players unless you're talking about the very highest most elite level (and there aren't many, if any of those) or cheap young ones with high potential ceilings due to their relative expense compared to cheaper and often better options from around the world.

I think the only thing he offers in comparison with Sarr and Bentancur is the chaos factor he can add, deriving mainly from his mediocre technique/ability on the ball

I think he offers quite a bit more than that. Like always, you massively discredit players you don't like, in the same way that you massively overrate most players you're a fan of. Like that championship player you've been saying for years is the next ballon'd'or winner, yet he's done virtually fudge all for years. Can't remember his name, as he's done nothing to be remembered.
So as player ratings go, I pretty much disregard anything you say.

I wouldn't want to sign any of the England players based on the euros performances. They all look like they have no clue what to do. But we know there are quality players in the team, right?

100% some quality there, just poorly organised. Need to put players in to fit the system, might as well drop Kane unless you plan to play people who will run beyond him.

The whole LB thing is bizarre as well, is Shaw really going to get dropped into a last 16 or quarter final game without having played in nearly 6 months.

Luton and Palace also both had impressive and in form LBs who never got looked at

Porro was a winger first and then converted to RWB, there's an argument to made there that he would be comfortable playing infield and in possession of the ball up field.
I’d argue a winger and wing back would be much less comfortable as their whole game is about being wide

Destiny never played inverted as was a straight full back. He has done fine

Hmm but Porro was a Spanish style winger, he was never a pure up and down the wing lump it in merchant. I get your thinking, I'm just saying that as he was trained in the Spanish methodology it's not totally shocking that he's capable of playing infield.

It you watched Udogie at Udinese how he's playing isn't really surprising at all. While not inverted on paper he played a lot of possesion LWB with the ball at his feet and was a proper footballer.

I think the positions of the players is less important than the attributes they posses. Some players from the same positions will be a lot more suited to inverting than others just based on their specific skill sets.
