Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

If Harry was being admired by Madrid ( :) ) then I would wish him well.

The England situation is completely diifferent.....to be honest, I wouldn't have minded if our season hadn't have fallen off a cliff, which it did.

That's the unforgivable thing for me.....he thought the job was his, stopped takimg training, completely zoned out and he suffered because of it, an unforgivable lapse.

If AVB comes in and finished 2/3rd and has Madrid sniffing around...happy days...

So AVB is capable of being amazing at Porto.......so why WOULDN'T he be amazing at Spurs then?

Oh I hope he is. And Levy obviously thinks he will be.

Thus far in England though, AVB is up against it, whereas Harry has the record to crush him with.

Pressure is on AVB big time, don't worry about that.

If any of you have ever employed people to do a job , I feel you will understand why Levy and the Spurs board have taken this decision. I do recall at the end of the 2010-11 season after more points were dropped at home to a relegation team, when a reporter fired a question at Harry that maybe he got he's tactics wrong he flew into one and came out with his, "they're all idiots comments". I'm 100% sure Harry would've been taken to one side and pulled up about his media antics.

However, Harry didn't change and in fact hes ego went up a level, the good first half of last season only fueled his thinking that he were the bees knees of football management , certainly as far as our club were concerned. He felt vindicated and had blown a raspberry at Levy & the Spurs board. With getting off the charge in court and Cappello's resignation, more massaging of his ego followed by his media chums and he just couldn't contain himself, forwarding himself almost daily for the job he most wanted . All this went hand in hand with a collapse in form and a derisory accumulation of points that only Wolverhampton's was worse.

It cost the club millions and at the end of it all, Harry was after an improved contract at Spurs having seen the England job go to Hodgson . Harry not satisfied with being perhaps the 10th most highly paid football manager in the world wanted an improved contract!

I want to see a Spurs manager conduct himself in a manner that befits our club's pride in what we try to achieve and not have one that gives us the impression we should be honored to have him jabbering on about how fantastic he is when things are going well and how he's not to blame for anything when it does not. Whether AVB is the man to do this I don't know but I respect the decision of Levy & the Spurs board. We have made inroads in South American football ( Brazil ) and a highly regarded young Portuguese manager will help us in this . I expect some young samba signings in their new future and I will back AVB and hope he can give us what we all want , a beautiful footballing team to watch , challenging for CL places and occasionally winning a pot.

I believe. COYS!

We'll take more care of you, AVB , AVB

HArry will never work for a premier league club again, definitely not a top 7 club.

For a reason.

Thanks you, superb post that completely encapsulates my POV

jimmy I honestly haven't read it, so don't understand the winks or whatever subtle nonsense you're trying to convey.

I might read it tomorrow and reply, or PM me with it if you really want me to acknowledge it.

I don't give a fudge if you acknowledge it. I just find it amusing (and rather convenient for you) given that, for the past two or three hours, you have been ceaselessly posting and reading a great number of posts in this thread (one or two of them as long as or longer than mine)!

Were Chelsea lucky in your opinion?

You know what, a lot of people look at me and they'd probably say 'what a lucky bastard'. But d'you know what, they wouldn't know how bloody hard I've worked to achieve everything I have.

So, with respect, I don't go for anyone who suggests 'luck'. Chelsea won the Champions League, they beat whoever came before them and that was quality who they played too.

I've mostly been replying to Leeds' one-liners.

I haven't read or replied to anything as long as yours.

And if you don't give a fudge, then shut up about it?

I respect the decision of Levy & the Spurs board.

I fully agree with you and this is the key point.

If the board can longer tolerate the behaviour of a manager who seeks at every turn to undermine them in the media, then regardless of how well he is doing the job he is paid to do, it is inevitable that the manager has to go. Harry only has himself to blame. Sad but undeniably true.

Great post.

This thread is getting boring now anyway.

I don't think Harry should've gone; others think he should. Some think AVB will be great; others differ.

Whatever happens, we all want success. So here's hoping for a highly successful season ahead 8)

I don't care whether you respond but your inability to respond is telling!

P.S. What about your rant about those who accept 5th or 6th? Short? I think not.

Welcome to Tottenham Hotspur FC .

I will support AVB 100% but I hate to break it you, AVB is hardly one to accept blame if you've ever seen any of his post match interviews after a loss, then you will see what I mean.

Some people need to make up their minds. Do they want a manager who tells it like it is and makes us successful, or one that tells us what a great club we are and finishes in mid table? Makes me think of House. He's a complete prick, but you'd rather be insulted by him and he saves your life rather than get a doctor who is nice to you, but you die!

Anyway, enough about Redknapp. We have a new man at the helm and I'm sure every Spurs fan wants him to succeed and get us back in the Champions League!

Make your mind up: will he work in the Premier League ever again or not?

Laughable to make a claim like that, then a weasel "...definitely not a top 7 club" caveat.

Wht, like saying 4th OR 3rd?

No.

Man Utd? Lol
City - Lol
Chelsea - Nah, want foreign coaches
Liverpool - Rogers appointed, will get 3 years
Arsenal - Never, will be a French coach when Wenger dies
Saudi Sportswashing Machine - Harry could have done that already.....too far
Sunderland - Ditto
Everton - Ditto
Villa - Lambert just appointed
West Ham - :)
West Brom - Possible, new manager appointed though
Fulham - Jol will keep them mid table and they have no higher aspirations
QPR - Staying in the league is a win and Sparky will do that
Southampton - :) didn't end well last time!! :)
Reading - McDermott is reveered
Norwich - Just appointed Hughton, too far
Swansea - Brand new manager
Wigan - Martinez is reveered and it's too far.

Basically I can't see much activity in the next 2 years........especially in clubs in London/South where Harry would want the job.

Nah - he'll be 67/68........a job managing Afghanistan beckons IMO!! :)
