Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

Funny thing is, Spurs appointing AVB is the biggest football news since Euro2012 ended. We are just masters at luring world's attention to us, don't we.

Only problem I have with AVB is his age. Being just 35, seems like too young to manage a big club. Can he get older players and those with big ego to respond to him ? Other than that, you cannot judge him from his time at Chelsea as they also sacked Mourinho and Ancelotti after they won PL title for them.

Now that AVB has been confirmed, the Spurs players should be allowed to speak up what they think of the new manager and Redknapp. It is too uncomfortable not knowing the players views and reaction.

Emirates Marketing Project fan here, I actually lurk quite a lot on GG. Not really posted on here yet, just a few bits and pieces here and there, just thought I'd introduce myself. Actually had an account on the old GG, never posted with that either.

Just want to say how I'm looking forward to challenging for the title with you lot next season. AVB is a brilliant appointment imho, you couldn't have found anyone better. I look at us as favourites, and now I see you as our main challengers even with Vertonghen yet to sign. With a superb first XI and now a proper tactician in charge, things are only going to get better for you. It seems a lot of Spurs fans are happy with the appointment, which can only help things. Positivity breeds productivity, and all that.

With all due respect, do you expect any of your players to come out and say something along the lines of: "Nah, not happy about this at all. I miss Harry and his car window, gimme a transfer!"?

Hey SWP welcome aboard mate.

Thanks for the kind words, however I'm not sure I can share your optimism just yet in terms of challenging for the title. As it stands, I'm confident that we can still challenge in the upper echolons of the table, however a title challenge is a bit too early for us in my opinion. Would love to be proved wrong though!

I'm hoping our players will just move on to be honest, as we all should. I'm sure certain things might come out/be made up in the press but time will tell I guess.

Stoke might want him Leeds :). You missed them on your analysis!! Sorry far too early to worry actually haha

We have had managers from England, Scotland, Argentina, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Spain and now Portugal. Only left Germany, Italy and Brazil among the major football nations where we haven't appointed a manager from. You can never say we won't be going there for manager in future. I am sure the likes of Klinsmann, Capello and Scolari can fill the quota.

Why? With most businesses and companies, especially in the public eye, if employees start talking to the media about new CEOs or managing directors (unless it is PR speak) they'd get lumped with some sort of disciplinary action.

Also, I'm not that bothered what any of the club's employees think. They are there to do a job - if they can't do it properly they should look for the proper channels to facilitate their departure.

I'd love for you to be right, but no way will we be challenging for the title. It'll be one step backwards to (hopefully!) go two steps forwards at some point over the next 2 to 3 seasons. I think we should get top six this season, but I would be content if we finished 6th, or even 7th.

Why specifically do you think we'll slip back 3 or 4 places next season?
