I hate to say this mate, but until such time as we can compete financially, this will always be the lot of those teams who are not considered in the media and world football to be "big" clubs.

In 40+ years of not seeing my team win a league title, I have learned to manage my expectations and it would be better for all of us if we did the same?

AVB was fired as his disasterous man-management 'skills' turned the entire dressing room on him and he was fired for seriously brick results.

Mourinho was fired after trying to renegotiate his contract with Roman Abramovitch and Roman thought he was showing disrespect.

Di Matteo lead an INSTANT up-turn in results after he took over from AVB, and went on to win the Champions League. As for luck? fudge me mate, Barcelona away and Bayern in the final - with respect, it takes more than simply luck to do that. Credit where it's due, for goodness sake.

Eh, fudge it. If he proves he was a decent manager, he'll get us into the top four for 2-3 seasons, if he goes we'll be a bigger club for having had him.

He's capable of bring the best and he's capable of being the worst.

So far, he's shown he's capable of being amazing at Porto, and fudging dire at Chelsea.

You've said his motivation will be to disprove his Chelsea 'performance'. Okay, so he doesn't give a brick about Spurs either then. You got all steamed up about Harry Redknapp 'hitching his skirt' for England, yet that's exactly what AVB will be doing should he disprove his Chelsea disaster.

So, what do YOU want? I think you need to make your mind up on that, or else you'll be blowing your top again once Andre talks about how much of an honour it would be to manage Real Madrid, Barcelona, et al...

Sorry to break this to you but AVB was 5th in the league when he left......where did Chelsea finish?

If Harry was being admired by Madrid ( :) ) then I would wish him well.

The England situation is completely diifferent.....to be honest, I wouldn't have minded if our season hadn't have fallen off a cliff, which it did.

That's the unforgivable thing for me.....he thought the job was his, stopped takimg training, completely zoned out and he suffered because of it, an unforgivable lapse.

If AVB comes in and finished 2/3rd and has Madrid sniffing around...happy days...

So AVB is capable of being amazing at Porto.......so why WOULDN'T he be amazing at Spurs then?

jimmy I honestly haven't read it, so don't understand the winks or whatever subtle nonsense you're trying to convey.
