I'm confused whether this "SkipRat" persona was created by Scaramanga or Milo. Neither seem to post on these forums any more.
The poor spellings, lack of punctuation, shaky grammar made me think it couldn't be Scaramanga, but now I think he is deliberately misspelling words to throw us off the scent.
Either way it is very frustrating that SkipRat dominates every thread with they/their/his/her nonsense posts, chock full of diversion tactics to obfuscate what the real humans are talking about.

It's funny, that the only arguments against my nonsense posts are the usual claims of racism, bigots etc etc.

I was openly called a racist c*nt for being factually correct. I wear it like a badge of honor

One person couldn't even tell the difference between culture and foreign policy, the latter of which can change from election to election.

You have me mistaken for someone who hasn't been exposed to anti woke arguments. I've been exposed to a lot of those arguments on here, with friends and elsewhere on line (podcasts, youtube etc). I've been exposed to anti CRT arguments, go back in time a little bit and it was all anti "SJW" and feminism. Gamer gate and whatnot.

I've asked you for who you think make a convincing argument in part because you hardly make rational arguments at all. You state opinions, seemingly with a lot of certainty. But not even original opinions.

We're all influenced by the thinking of others, of course we are. I don't see why that's a point of contention. For me it's only natural in an adult and honest conversation to also talk about who and what has influenced one to think as one does. To better understand the underlying arguments and points and also understand where people are coming from. I'm sorry you haven't been exposed to enough critical thinking, scepticism and intelligent conversation to realise that this is actually quite normal and useful.

It isn't about diversity quotas it is about representation.

Dr Who is probably case book, it didn't matter who was Dr Who when it was McCoy or Tennant or Capaldi but lots of anti-woke BS gammons started huffing and puffing when it was a woman even though it didn't have any impact on the concept of a regenerating Time Lord or storylines beyond people wanting to feel aggrieved by a 'beloved character' being destroyed. Yet it opened up the appeal of Dr Who to a new audience at no cost to any other viewers. Now there is a black, homosexual Dr, heaven forbid, for the pearl-clutchers to steam about.

Is there really a massive backlash in gaming? or is there a massive noise from a very small section of the community? Or is the gaming community unrepresentative of society and perhaps over-representative of a certain section of society who spend too long in their escapism and not in real social situations?

It's interesting how these echo chambers function. Often seems to be at least some element of shielding the in group from contrary opinions and arguments. Along with that also making the out group way more homogeneous than it actually is.

The "fox news bubble" back in the day seemed quite high on demonising anything on the left as communist, socialists, atheist etc. Some kind of evil. Why should one listen to any arguments from this evil.

The climate denier bubble meanwhile seems to me way more conspiratorial. But the same effect, why listen to the opinions originating from the conspirators.

The anti woke bubble, particularly the heavily online YouTube and social media stuff seems more based on just ridicule. The "woke" are just ridiculously stupid and just don't see what's going on. Again though, not worth listening to or taking in those arguments.

Of course this also happens on the left. And of course different bubbles will isolate themselves in various and somewhat overlapping ways.

I think it's good to be aware of because we're all susceptible to falling into a bubble to various degrees on various topics.

The podcast "Decoding the gurus" is quite good on this kind of stuff. Left leaning, but look at "secular gurus" on the left and right and somewhat on non political things. They're quite measured.

Another recurring theme is how everything fits into the same overarching narrative within these bubbles. Everything from why Star Wars and Dr Who being brick to the US election. It's all explained by wokeness you see. If only other people weren't so stupid they would see it too. We have all the answers already, people just won't listen to us. The world isn't complex, multi factorial and uncertain. We can explain it and it's all rather simple if you just listen.

Oh and the fudging persecution complexes. They're everywhere in these bubbles. That's not to say people don't have real grievances, but it's always the "big they" treating them poorly. The homogeneous outgrup.

It's another excuse to be angry about something that matters little.

The anger gets clicks and creates revenue. Not on here, but for the influencers peddling it. And for the social media platforms whose algorithms send people down these rabbit holes.

I've probably said this before.... but the issue is people are stuck in their bubbles/rabbit holes. The vehicle of delivery is addictive, its fed to you constantly and quickly. The algorithm will lock you in, it's good for businesses (whether that's commercial or political gain). I've seen some phone app audits and it's eye watering.
