Yves Bissouma

Useless? This is a very disrespectful post.
International friendlies are pointless. If it was a competitive WC or ACN qualifier, fair enough. But no one needs friendlies.

We need to start moving to a 45 games a season cap on players (40 club games, 5 internationals)

The midfielder missed Sunday's north London derby after returning with a knock from international duty and, speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ange provided an update on the midfielder, which confirmed he will not be available for selection at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

However, Ange did remark that there are hopes that Yves will be back for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

"No. He's not where we want him to be (in his recovery) but hopefully there's still a chance (he'll be available) for the weekend," Ange said in his press conference.

I'd say the same about nations league and England players

I get Spurs tries to do the right thing re players representing but it's frustrating to see a player injured in a game where they really didn't need Biss (based on opposition)
There are no small teams in African football especially if it is an away game.

I agree. I am a frequent critic but thought he has a great game tonight, stepping up and being purposeful when a man down. That's what I hope for from him.

Was fantastic imo, particularly in the first half.

It's about consistency and stepping up for him. The message from Ange post laughing-gas-gate was clear, and seemingly not isolated to that incident.

So far so good, but has to show it over time and in various circumstances.

He was immense and also a bit daft at the same time

Some fl his decision making with the ball was odd

The way he was winning it was brilliant

One new thing we have is Ange playing Kulu and Madds ahead of a single number 6. We also have a young gun in the squad.

Is it any coincidence that Bents and Biss are starting to fight for that single shirt and play well?

Oh I agree. I called out Ange's trust levels in him last Xmas!

Same here for me as well, he has lots of ability but on occasions he fails to get involved in games.

I thought he had a great first half on Thursday but after the penalty he seemed to just lose concentration and started to get caught in possession and giving the ball away...

As regards the penalty, the attacker did invite the contact, and Biss did end up getting the ball, but in the penalty box I don't think defenders should actually go for the ball...

Ledley King was a great defender and in the box he just used to block the path of the ball rather than hp for it and risk contact... The only tone I saw him do the opposite was away at Emirates Marketing Project and he gave a penalty away... Sadly he was getting slower then and very close to the end of his injury blighted career. A fantastic player.

For Bentancur, yes, coincidence that he's fit, to me Biss is a very good player on his day, a fit Bentancur is an elite midfielder. Interesting that in the United post game analysis with Shearer/Lineker they both first talked about VDV, then they both called out Bentancur in that game.

Re Biss, his "brother role" for Sarr is a great reflection on this squad's personalities, look at his reaction when they ask him about Sarr

On his game, our most influential midfielder imo even more than Bentancur. We miss him the most when he is out.

That bit at 1:49 where he knocks it around 1 player and sprints through midfield and lays it perfectly into the feet of Lankshear, who is chopped down by a defender. That is a pen for me. Great play from Biss.
Then 5 seconds later, the way he receives the ball and flik-flaks down the line, past the right winger, he has SO MUCH talent. Often he has to play safe as the DM and take zero risks, but when he has chance to show his quick feet, he is elite.
