Young players we should look at

Go to Palace, will be effy first 10 to 15 games, good 15 to 30 games. End of the season we will be quoted 60m for him.

Reads the game well makes good interceptions and comes from a league that produces fantastic players.

Used to the English game for 25m I feel the is little risk. If after 2 years he is not making it you could sell on for 10m.
To ah instead of who for us?

We won't try to sign him till he is to expensive.

To be fair we got enough youngsters coming through. So I don't mind going for more established players.

But the likes of Dibbling, Riggs, Hackney will all be brilliant players in the future.

I sort of think Delap at Ipswich is already a prem player.

Delap is
He is now doing i
Dibbling has it too
And I rate Hackney
But you can only have so many players
It’s why the lesser sides have got better

Yeah to many youngsters only a few can come through at once.

I'm hoping Devine, Donelly, Lankshear get loans to the championship next season.

I think Hackney would be like Wharton at Palace and after half a season would be a very good player. Would sell Bissouma to let him come through.

We will sell a cm to make room for gray imo

I don't think we need to sell one, unless we miss out on europe entirely. Having 5 for 2 spots is pretty optimum. Bergvall can also play in ACM, which helps with minutes too. Best case, Gray just relegates Bissouma to back-up and Bentacur to competing with Sarr.

To answer this, I guess we really need to know Ange's opinions on Abbott (19), Devine (20) and Donley (20) with regards to next season. If any of these get integrated into the first team squad it all looks different again.

We clearly do need to get ourselves back up that table and get any UEFA place to keep the current plan on course.

True.

Ive not seen Devine for a while. Where would he play in our system? CM or ACM?

Donley i see replacing Maddison either in 6 or 18 months time (probably the latter), depending on his devlopment.

At DM there's also Hall as well as Abbott isnt there?

Their contracts are why we would shift one

Fully agreed. Depends on what Ange thinks of those out on loan and what happens with Europe next season...

With HG issues with regards to Europe continuing into next season and a lot of younger players here already we may be reluctant to buy in that "young, but almost ready for first team, not signed to be loaned back out" type category for this and next window.

Academy type players, more deals like Vuskovic (sign to loan out) may be a good idea, but would like the main focus to be on players that can replace an existing squad member, one in one out.

I think 3 year deals (2 year extensions) for both would be the best course for us. Their wages are reasonable, it saves us having to pay out fees, and we know they can do the job at a high level. It also feels the right timeframe to manage the transition to Gray and Sarr as the long-term pairing.

The player may not want that though
And we need sales for PSR and churn
It’s what’s killed us before

Don't feel massively qualified to answer your question. I thought Donley would be an attacking player based on his U21's tenure, and then saw him play well at LB in pre-season. Every assumes number 10 for him, but I've also seen people say that Moore is expected to move inside as well.

With Devine, I'm even less sure. I almost feel he's like Bergval in that he can look good in any of the 3 positions. Whether his runway allows him to be 1st team material, I don't know.

Abbott is probably the easiest to pin to a position. Number 6.

Then you have Olusesi getting selected over Hall for the first team squad. Then I've even seen Hall playing as a forward for our U21s, but saw Olusesi out on the right for the U21s last season.

Be good to hear some of the other posters views on this quintet of talent we have in midfield.
