Fair points. I’m fairly relaxed about Ange and think he needs time. He does however need to sort out why we keep leaking so many goals as we can’t win 4-1 every week.

We have conceded less than arsenal and have the joint 4th best record in the division along with city I believe
The issue with the goals is that it’s the repeatable ones that we concede and they have been differentiators in games against lestah, Brighton, Ipswich, palace and east we didnt keep clean sheets in games we should have like villa and West Ham

Woolwich have conceded 12. We've conceded 13.

And they've been a long way from their best.

We've the joint 6th best defensive record in the league.

Defending crosses is base-level defending 101 though

We can't claim to be a good/competent defence if we say "ah, we are good, but we have a problem defending crosses"..

Honestly, I really don’t know. We looked our best against Villa, West Ham and United. We looked dreadful against Palace, Ipswich and some cup games. And, truthfully, that’s what we’ve been under Ange for some time. We have no track record of consistency under him whereas Woolwich do have that under Legohead and have had tougher fixtures than us.

I said the issue with the defence is the inability to defend crosses

Impossible to tell
But I don’t think you can argue one team is off their best and that we aren’t
It’s double standards
When we get good results or bad it’s mainly because of what we do.

The have consistency now… after a long period with the same guy and constant investment
They didn’t have in Artetas equivalent period to now
inconsistency can be many things. Age and inexperience are two things we may (may) be suffering from. Can’t really tell from the outside
What we do fall into a trap of though, as a team, is making the same errors leading to goals which shows consistency but in a bad way

Yes it is, especially when it feels all too avoidable.

BTW, i think it was you who said you wouldn't judge our direction of travel/progress until at least 10 league games this season.

I don’t think anyone can say with a straight face that we defend well or that we don’t concede too many goals. People often compared our defensive record to Villa last season but they conceded too many also. We never look solid.

I’ve also highlighted the main issue, repeatedly
Stop conceding basic crosses and we cut down our goals conceded in half
How we do it, I don’t care. That’s up to players and Ange but it’s worst than Childs football the way we defend simple crosses

We could have all men back but if they don’t and don’t challenge.. they are just cones for practice
